Hi I'm Carra Miller

I grew up in California, USA. I'm serving a mission for the Lord in South Carolina, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love writting and reading! It energizes and works your brain. I am a high school graduate and have compeleted 3 semesters of college. I have had many blessings given to me in my life, like going to travel certain places of Europe. I have read the whole book of mormon, but it took me awhile to set my mind to doing so. I have been put through a lot of challenges and have over come them, most with a little help. I have my own flaws and I know I'm not perfect. And I am deffinately my own unique person who loves to make people smile. I am a missionary in the South Carolina Columbia Mission and I believe that I have the best job in the world! I love my mission president, President Holm, and his wife of course. There's nowhere in the world I'd rather be.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I was 7, I lived in a place that wasn't very good. With a lot of drugs and alcohol around me everywhere. I was only a child so I really didnt understand what it al was, but everyone else did. That's when I went to live with my wonderful grandmother. She raised me to be who I curently am and she is the one who showed me what going to church and being part of the true gosple was. There have been times in my life where I felt too much pressure to go to church because I was the oldest in Young Women's but when I didn't go, I didnt feel as happy as when I did go. When I entered my last couple years of high school, I didn't have my grandmother to physically guide me anymore, because she had passed ways. I started to fall away and feel like going to church was a waste of time. Then, the Single's Ward missionaries came to my door for my cousin (who is inactive) and we visited with them, and still do, each week. She is now married and in the family ward but I would still meet with the missionaries until I left for my mission and it helped me a lot. I try to be better each day by reflecting on what I didn't do right the day before. Church helps me stay afloat in life and I wouldn't give it up for the world.

How I live my faith

I have brought many friends to the church, whether it was a youth dance or a clean up project, or even girl's camp. With them knowing what the religion I am in is all about helps me to know that I need to be an example. I try to help people everyday, even if its a simple as holding a door open for a stanger. I figure, one day it will catch on and those peole I help will help others. I also carry around little church cards to pass out to anyone who would like to know more about what I believe in. I also read my scriptures, attend church, and go to other church activities to streangthen my testimoney so that I will be able to teach others while on my mission.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Carra Miller
There aren't really "secrets" going on in the temples. There is only holy work going on like people go there to do baptizms for people who didnt have the opportunity to when they were on the earth. We only do good in the temple, so only those who have been babtized can enter. I have a friend who cant wait to go in one day. She knows that doing the Lord's work is not only spiritually fulfilling, but also spiritually fun! Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Carra Miller
I increase my faith each day by doing the following: I say a prayer in the morning thanking Heavenly Father for a new day and asking for help with whatever I am doing that day. Then I stop at different times in the day to reflect on what Heavenly Father has given me, such as time with my family or friends. I read my scriptures at a set time each day because I know that reading the scriptures is a great way to receive revelation and gain a greater understanding of my individual purpose here. I always end the day with a prayer, thanking Him for my blessings that day and for the help I was given. Another great thing to strengthen your faith is to pray for and act on "missionary moments" because you learn more when you are teaching. Show more Show less
