Hi I'm Carolyn

I'm a military kid or brat whichever you prefer. I'm also a Mormon. I've lived all over the world.

About Me

I'm a college student majoring in Early Childhood Special Education. My dad is in the U.S. Air Force; so we move a lot. I'm the oldest of six kids. I have 3 sisters and 2 brothers. We've traveled the world together. We've lived in Japan, England, Italy, and Germany. Then we've visited all sorts of other places. With all my traveling I've found the world to be a beautiful place full of interesting people and cultures. I must admit that I do not know any other languages, but I wish I did. I love doing arts and crafts. Something I'm really into now is calligraphy, but I do love scrapbooking.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents are members, however, my dad joined the church when he was 17. It was because of missionaries who found my grandma that he joined. She got baptized, and then she encouraged my dad to learn more about the church. I'm grateful everyday for those missionaries who found her. This church and its teachings has brought so much joy and happiness into my life. I would be a different person without it. This doesn't mean I don't have hard times because I do. I've also been given the opportunity to come closer to my Heavenly Father and have a personal relationship with Him. He hears my prayers and answers them. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of all mankind, and I have this knowledge because of what this church teaches. Something that has always been important to me is that NO MATTER where I go, the church is always the same. I can go Italy and they are teaching the same things as they were in England. As a military kid the two things that have been constant in my life is my family, and the church. I also know that I can find friends at church that have similar values as me.

How I live my faith

I'm kind of a shy person, so I show people who I am through my example. I know what God has asked me to do, such as dressing modestly and being kind to others, and I do it. People see that I'm a different person and respect me for it. In church I've been asked to serve as a teacher many times. My favorite is when I can work with the little ones, and teach them about things like how God loves them. I will soon be in the full-time service of our Lord Jesus Christ. I'm going on a mission to Madrid, Spain, and I will be learning Spanish. Some would probably think that I'm crazy for dropping everything, especially when I'm only a couple semesters away from having my degree, to go share the message that this church has to share with the people of the world who are looking for it. I wouldn't go do that if it wasn't true. I know that it is, and that's why it's worth it. I love this church! Jesus Christ is at the head of it, guiding our leader such as President Monson, so that we can come to Him.
