Hi I'm Dan

I grew up in South Dakota. I live in Orange County, CA. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the busy father of 5 wonderful children, raising my family with my wife here in southern California. Seems like anytime I have to write something like this, I'm rather short on interesting hobbies! But I find a lot of enjoyment from work (corporate finance), spending time with my family, and in my associations at church. I'm enjoying the journey, learning new things, making friendships, living a very happy life overall.

Why I am a Mormon

First and foremost, I'm a Mormon because it's true. On the surface, this religion asks too much of its members if it weren't true. I love the Book of Mormon, and that book is really the foundation of my testimony. I read it almost every day, and I love the things it teaches me about God's plan, and how obtain the blessings of my Savior. I can't imagine being a parent without the church. I'm so grateful for how the church complements the things I teach my children about the gospel. Beyond that, I love being a Mormon for the rich relationships it brings me and my family. Our relationships with friends at church are so strong since we inter-twine our lives in serving together and serving each other.

How I live my faith

I'm not perfect, but I'm trying. Reading my scriptures gives me knowledge and spiritual strength. Participating in church teaches me so much about what I need to do. Prayer is my ultimate lifeline. I do my best to live my faith, and to teach my children to do the same. Currently finding much joy in the journey... The way I serve in the Church is by teaching high school Juniors an early morning Old Testament class. We meet each school day at 6:30AM. The youth that attend my class are truly amazing. It's great to meet with them, sing a hymn, pray together, and dig in to the scriptures. The schedule is challenging as a teacher, but I really have felt the Lord's blessings both in helping me teach, and blessing me in other areas of my life. Looking forward to New Testament next year!
