Hi I'm Holly

I love running. I was born in Canada. I like peanut butter. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Washington and love the outdoors. I am training for a triathlon as well as a marathon. I'm studying Math Education and want to be a high school math and Spanish teacher and a cross country coach. I play the saxophone, the piano and the flute. I just learned to crochet and I'm almost done with my first baby blanket. I like volunteer opportunities and participate in my school's blood drives as well as 4H Mentoring. I love spending time with my family! I have 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 nephews and 4 nieces. I lived in LA for about a year and a half and loved the people there. I now teach Spanish as I'm finishing up my Bachelor's Degree. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I realized growing up that the standards and beliefs I had been taught were more of a protection than a burden as I started to see close friends make decisions that made their lives harder. I always enjoyed going to church. In high school, I started to have experiences where people would challenge my beliefs and I needed to know for myself if what I was taught was true. I went to a Christian camp with some friends of another faith and one day we were given about 30 minutes in nature to just ponder. I prayed to my Heavenly Father and just asked Him about what I should believe. It felt like a conversation where I was telling Him what I knew all along to be true and He listened and confirmed it. I have had countless experiences where I can see the Lord's hand in my life guiding me and directing me. I cannot deny the power of God. I know that He knows me personally and that He wants the best for me and wants me to reach my potential. I know He has put certain people in my life to answer my prayers and has put me in the lives of others to answer theirs. I know the Savior lives and that through Him we can return to live with our Heavenly Father. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are the words of God. He continues to speak to us today through a prophet and through personal revelation. I know this is the true church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I attend Church every Sunday and have the opportunity to serve others in my congregation. I attend the Temple regularly where I feel the Spirit of God and receive inspiration. I often go running after I study my scriptures and think about how to apply what I have studied. I pray regularly and am always looking for ways to strengthen my relationship with my Heavenly Father. I am amazed at and enjoy the countless blessing that come from living my faith!
