Hi I'm Jillian

I am LDS and have been a member of the church my entire life and I love the Gospel!

About Me

I am currently earning my Nutritional Science undergraduate degree and some of my hobbies include playing the piano, singing, cooking and baking, reading, exercising, drawing, listening to music, watching movies, going to Disneyland, and being with my family and close friends. I would say my life motto is "It's the simple things in life we treasure the most." I absolutely love being with my family and people I love. They are truly blessings in my life. I love learning about my Savior Jesus Christ and his gospel. I am so enthusiastic and happy about life because I have the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a member when I turned 8 years old and I grew up living the Gospel of Jesus Christ in Southern California. I do not know how I would live my life or let alone where I would be in this world without the church. I made the decision when I was baptized a long time ago to live the Gospel to its fullest and it is the best decision I will ever make. Living the gospel brings me such joy and perspective on life because it guides me through my difficult trials, sins, and decisions. Several of my friends throughout the years have told me that they notice that I am always happy and enthusiastic. The main reason why I am like this is because I have the Gospel: the greatest blessing in my life. All my past experiences, although unbearably difficult at times, have only brought me closer to my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Right now I am on a council at church that helps organize a weekly church meeting for young single adults called Institute. At Institute we gather to hear a lesson prepared by another single adult and afterward we socialize with other young single adults. I always try to live the way Jesus Christ lived by serving others. I find much happiness in volunteering and being charitable to others. I also attend church activities and I make an effort to put my personal prayer and scripture studies first in life. I understand I still have so much progress to do in applying the gospel and following Christ but I make an effort to always improve. I find comfort and strength in relying on my Savior for help in this and my many trials in life.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Jillian
We believe the Bible is holy scripture and is a significant record in guiding us in these modern times. It is part of the foundation of our church. The Bible contains important doctrine, history, testimonies from prophets, and teachings of Christ that make up the core of our gospel. Everything in the Bible is a witness of Christ and our Heavenly Father. The writings in the Bible are inspired teachings of prophets of God that were guided by the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1: 20-21). The Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ was also written by inspired prophets of God, which supports the teachings of the Bible. The Bible along with the Book of Mormon are holy scripture that were written for our day to guide us through life and help us return to our Heavenly Father again. Show more Show less
