Hi I'm Grant

I'm from Montana. I love basketball, jazz music, hiking, and learning. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 5 kids and love each of my siblings. I am named after both of my grandpas. Sports are awesome! I especially like basketball, tennis and ultimate frisbee. I like classical, new age and jazz music. Even though I lived for 8 years in Utah, I love my small hometown in Montana, where my family has lived for 11 years now. Visiting friends from serving a mission in Provo, Utah is a priority in my life right now. I am pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at my university and want to use my degree in a career in the development of renewable energy and sustainable technologies. I enjoy hearing the great experiences of my sister who is serving a mission in Africa. I love watching clouds and am astounded by the amazing beauties of the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Part of the reason why I am a Mormon is my courageous great-great-great grandpa, who was one of the first converts in South Africa. He was baptized on his 21st birthday and immediately disowned by his family. He emigrated to Utah and served Christ his whole life, raising a righteous family. While this man has influenced me greatly, I have had the opportunity in my life to choose whether or not I will continue to follow Jesus Christ and be a part of His restored Church on the earth. I have felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that the Book of Mormon is true, that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His true Church. The most convincing evidence to me is the change of heart that I have experienced slowly, but surely as I have tried to follow Jesus Christ. I feel it every day. I know without a doubt that the Church is true, yet God still keeps converting me and molding me into a more Christ-like individual who is willing to serve His children.

How I live my faith

One of the most meaningful ways to me in which I live my faith is through administering the sacrament on Sunday. As one who holds the Priesthood, or the authority to act for God on the earth, I am privileged to prepare, bless and pass the bread and water, which are symbols of what Christ did for us in Gethsemane and on the cross. It fills me with joy to help other people remember Christ and the covenants they have made with Him. Through this service I have come to know that Jesus Christ lives and is the Savior of the World. It has also helped me come to know Him and develop a personal relationship with my Savior. Truly He is my Friend.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Grant
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He created the world under the direction of Heavenly Father. He came to earth and taught His Gospel, which is the only way to achieve salvation. He suffered for all the sins, infirmities and sicknesses of the world and died for us. This allows us to become clean from our sins through sincere repentance. It also helps us know that whatever trials we are going through, Christ understands them perfectly. He was Resurrected and conquered death forever. Because of His Resurrection, every person on earth will be resurrected and receive a perfect body. He lives and loves us infinitely. Show more Show less
