Hi I'm Mike Livingston

I love music and anything to do with water. I love to work out. I'm a computer nerd, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I served a full time Mission in the California Carlsbad Mission.  I'm working on going to school in Computer Science. I LOVE MUSIC! It's my favorite thing in the world. I also love hanging out with friends. I never used to but since I served a mission, I love to hang out with people. I do like the occasional time when I can be a loner and just play video games or watch some T.V.. I play the piano and would love to be better at the guitar! I grew up in Layton, UT. I have 2 younger brothers, one who is currently serving in the England London South Mission. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my entire life! Through thick and thin, the Lord is always there for me. Even the stupid mistakes that I've made in my life don't lessen His love for me. The Lord will ALWAYS come first before ANYONE. He is #1!!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, being taught the principles and doctrines. My parents taught me well from the Bible and The Book of Mormon. As I grew I knew it was true and chose to follow it because of how it influenced my life. It then came to a time when I really had to KNOW for myself if this was true, before I go off and "waste" 2 years of my life serving a mission. When I was 16 or 17 years old, the Young Women of the congregation made a challenge to the members there. They challenged us to choose 1 of 3 options: 1. Read the Book of Mormon for 30 days. (doesn't matter the length) 2. Read the Book of Mormon for 30 mins for 30 days. 3. Read the Book of Mormon in 30 days. After I heard that challenge I immediately said to myself, "Hmm..challenge #2 sounds good enough". Then I felt something whisper to me that said "Go big or go home!" I decided to take the challenge and read the Book of Mormon in 30 days. As I was doing, a new sense of peace and happiness came into my life. I was one day at work closing up the store, when I thought to myself "I get to go home and read the Book of Mormon". (Mind you, it was about an 18 pg a day reading assignment). I was sincerely excited to go home, sit down all hot and sweaty and read from the wonderful book! Right then as I was sweeping those floors...I KNEW that the Book of Mormon was true! No doubt in my mind. From then on...the Book of Mormon has blessed my life in countless ways! I will stand and look anyone in the eye and promise them that if they read from The Book of Mormon consistently, and pray and ask Heavenly Father to know that it's true...they WILL get an answer! It's happened for me, and lots of others. I know it's true, and yours and my whole conversion and testimony hinges on whether it is a true book or not!

How I live my faith

I live my faith in a way that allows the Lord to shape who I am so that when I do something that I REALLY want to do...it's something that He would have me do! I love to serve others, and that is a GREAT way of allowing the Lord to shape and mold you. Also being able to let the Gospel into your daily life, and not being scared to share it with everyone! If you can live worthy of God's presence, (being worthy of having the holy ghost with you) then you are living your faith and allowing Him to be in your life. You're allowing Him to mold you into what He NEEDS you to be.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Mike Livingston
We have the Bible to tell us about the wonderful stories of the creation of the world, the Savior's earthly ministry and more. It is full of inspired words from Prophets and Apostles that were on the earth during those times. We can know that the words of those prophets and apostles are true by reading them, praying to Heavenly Father, and then pondering over them. The Holy Spirit will confirm those truths and we will KNOW that they are true. The same is today. Once Jesus Christ and His apostles were killed, there was an apostasy of the church. The Dark Ages There needed to be Christ's church on the earth again, with other men who were in the same position as Christ's prophets and apostles in ancient times. These men today, are called by God and are given special help to direct His church on the earth and allow us to have the peace and happiness that only come from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
