Hi I'm Jon

I'm a graphic designer and photographer. I adore my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm married to a wife who's perfect for me! I'm the father of a spirited son and two beautiful daughters. I was raised as an athlete and an artist. I work as a graphic designer. My wife and I recently discontinued our photography business to focus our time on our young children. My favorite sports are football and softball. Since moving to the east I miss snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains with my three brothers. One of my favorite ways to spend time is on bike rides with my wife and kids on our beach cruisers.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have always been strong members of the church. I always felt good about the teachings of the church but it really wasn't until I served a two-year mission in California that my testimony of the church became strong. Through daily, sincere study of the scriptures, prayer, and through regularly sharing my beliefs, my testimony in this church became rock solid. I have faith in God, the Eternal Father, and in His son Jesus Christ. I know that they are at the head of this great church and that they direct this church through a prophet, who lives on Earth today. I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God, and I can honestly say that it changes my life every day as I read it—I also believe the Bible to be the word of God. I am my best self because I'm a member of this church. I'm so grateful every day for the clear understanding I have of God's plan—where we came from, what our purpose is on Earth, and where we go after this mortal life. It's all about family really, so we can live together forever, not just until the end of this life. I know these things are true because the Holy Ghost testifies to my heart and mind on a daily basis that they are, and I LOVE it! My greatest wish in the whole world is to somehow take my faith in the gospel and adequately share it with everyone around me, in order to bless their lives as much as it does mine.

How I live my faith

I love attending church each Sunday, and because of church, it's my favorite day of the week. I love welcoming people who are new to our congregation as well as people who recently joined the church. I'm a home teacher which means at least once a month I visit the home of three families, share a brief spiritual message, and I make sure their needs are taken care of. My family also has home teachers that visit us once a month. Every Monday night is Family Home Evening. We have a song, prayer, short lesson, fun activity, and refreshments. My family did this growing up and I'll continue to do it with my family because I know it strengthens our relationship. At church I serve as the secretary to the president of the men at the church I attend. We make sure the men are taught each Sunday and that everyone is taken care of. I love the opportunity to serve.
