Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in Arkansas. I am studying accounting at college. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Colorado, but moved a lot when i was young. Around the age of 3, we moved to Arkansas and i have lived their since. I grew up in Northwest Arkansas playing sports and hanging out with my friends. As a kid, i played soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. I continued playing football through high school which was a big part of my life. I was a member of many different clubs and was put on the Color-day court for our basketball homecoming. After graduating from high school I went to college for a year before going on a mission to Singapore and Malaysia. While there I learned a lot and grew a ton. I also learned to speak Chinese while I was there. Upon returning from my mission i have come back to college and am currently studying accounting.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that was very active in the church and has been for many many years. I grew up in the church, going to church every Sunday and participating in many different activities. While living in Arkansas i faced a lot of test and challenges that made me have to decide if i was willing to follow the standards that the church had set. I never doubted the church was true. I just didn't know if following the standards was worth it. It was at this time that i really started to studying the Book of Mormon and the Bible. As i did so, and as i became more fervent in my prayers, I not only strengthened my testimony of this church, but also came to understand just how important the church's teachings are in my life. I know this is God's true church. I know that through living the teachings of this church i can return to live with God again. Not only with God, but also with my family and friends round about me.

How I live my faith

I do many different things to live my faith. I am currently in charge of leading a group of 20 20-24 year olds who are attending college with me. We meet together every Monday night to share thoughts with each other as well as to have fun and just enjoy each others company. I also have the opportunity to visit 4 others at least once a month to make sure everything is going well for them as well as to talk with them about the gospel. I also just make sure to constantly be improving
