Hi I'm Dee

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in California and love the mountains and desert.

About Me

I am the father of five children and seven grandchildren. I work as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice. I love public service and have always enjoyed helping others. Two of my most meaningful community service projects have been serving on the board of directors of the local battered women's shelter and ministering to inmates at the federal correctional facility in our community. I love long distance running, reading history books, and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ answers life's greatest questions. It gives meaning and purpose to my life. It enhances my relationship with my family and develops a greater desire within me to serve my Savior Jesus Christ and his children.

How I live my faith

I teach a Sunday School class to the adults in our ward. This year we are studying the Book of Mormon. I love teaching about this great second witness of Jesus Christ. There is such a powerful spirit in our classroom as we study this inspired book. I love how the Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ and promises us rich blessings as we accept His teachings and commit to follow Him.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Dee
I begin my day by reading from the Bible and Book of Mormon every morning. I have a long bus ride to work in Washington DC so I study my scriptures on my iPhone. I take my time and ponder each verse and the accompanying footnotes. As I seriously examine the scriptures I gain deeper insights into the gospel of Jesus Christ and receive spiritual impressions on how to apply the word of God to my daily life. As I ponder the scriptures daily my love for God and his Son Jesus Christ increases and my desire to be more Christlike is renewed. Show more Show less
