Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a wife and mother who loves pushing beyond my limits. I'm a cancer survivor, and a marathon runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up a "less active" member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. After I went to college and sought out who I really was I faded for a time from the gospel of Jesus Christ. At a young age I was diagnosed with cancer. I found the most peace and secutrity while among other members of the church and the true loving embrace from my father in heaven when I recieved priesthood blessings. I have been blessed to be married in the temple to a man who honors the priesthood, and have been blessed with two healthy children.

Why I am a Mormon

I tried my best to ignore the things I learned as a youth. It is not easy being a Mormon. At least I didn't think it was. When I got out into the real world and was hit with scarey situations, I soon realized that the gospel wasn't trying to trap me, or to hold me back, rather it was giving me guidlines to keep me safe. My testimony grows each day, but after searching the Bible, and knowing the church the Savior set up included an Apostle and Prophet, I knew he would still want his church to be run that way. I know the the prophet Joseph had the same questions in his head, and with true desire to know which church was true, I know he did see God the Father, and His son Jesus Christ. I believe it was time for the Lord's church to be put on the earth again, to aid in the difficult times. I believe that the Savior loves everyone, equally, and thus he loved the poeple who lived in the Americas. I know he visited those people, and that there were prophets there who also taught the poeple of the coming of the Savior. I know they saw our days and gave their lives to protect the records for our use in these days. I feel comfort knowing that Heaven has not been closed. The world keeps getting more evil, and a loving Heavenly Father would not become quiet when we need Him the most. I know He wants us to be guided by His love during this time, and appoints a Prophet so that we can hear His love through them.

How I live my faith

As a brand new mom I was called as Young Women's President. It took a lot of work, considering my husband was working very long hours, and I would have to take my kid(s) with me to activities and meetings. I now serve in the Relief Society, where I am learning compassionate service, which, I am sorry to say, isn't natural for me, but I finding my heart softening, and serving the sisters as I know the Savior spent his days serving brings peace to my heart. I want my children to have the example the Savior set, and the best way I can do that is by serving without complaining, and by praying day and night to know what I need to do to be a better wife, mother and disciple.
