Hi I'm Amanda

I'm a wife. I'm a mother of four young children. I love healthy cooking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love finding adventure in travel, outdoor sports and juggling four kids under six. I traveled to St. Petersburg, Russia to teach English pre-school and kindergartners. I also was able to serve a full time mission in the Russia Moscow South Mission. When I get the chance, I love to go rock climbing, hiking, and mountain biking. These days most of my time is spent chasing after my 2 year old twin boys and 4 and 6 year old girls. I don't always love coming up with meals every night. I do love getting creative in the kitchen and finding healthy ways to feed my family.

Why I am a Mormon

It makes me happy. It gives me hope. It helps me strive to become a better person. I believe Joseph Smith saw the Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and he was given the fullness of the Gospel. He was able to translate the Book of Mormon. Life has its ups and downs, but when I look back I see how my experiences have shaped and molded me for the better. Elder Dieter F. Uchtorf stated, “The truth is, those who diligently seek to learn of Christ eventually will come to know Him. They will personally receive a divine portrait of the Master, although it most often comes in the form of a puzzle—one piece at a time. Each individual piece may not be easily recognizable by itself; it may not be clear how it relates to the whole. Each piece helps us to see the big picture a little more clearly. Eventually, after enough pieces have been put together, we recognize the grand beauty of it all. Then, looking back on our experience, we see that the Savior had indeed come to be with us—not all at once but quietly, gently, almost unnoticed.” I have felt the Savior’s influence in my life soothing my grieving heart and helping me become a better person. I feel that the Gospel has helped me know and grow closer to Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to teach. I really feel that it is simply an opportunity to guide discussion and to learn more myself. I have had so much fun spending a great deal of time with the young women in my area. Currently I am working with the full-time missionaries meeting with people interested in the church or simply giving the missionaries a ride.
