Hi I'm Seth

I'm a rugby player. I'm a program manager. I'm a pilot and a fly fisherman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spend most of my time working. I'm a program manager for a telecommunications company. If your I-Phone or I-Pad work great, then I'm doing a good job! If not, I typically blame someone else! :) When I'm not working I'm involved in scouting. I'm an eagle scout that earned all my awards, now I'm a assistant district commissioner working with tiger cubs, cub scouts, boy scouts and venture crews in several counties. I love working with young people and making differences in their lives! I went to college to be a commercial pilot, and graduated with that degree but also a degree in business. A medical condition changed my flying days but I still love flying as often as I possibly can. I have great friends and family who help me be the best and they're the reason I stay sane most times. I love rugby, camping, fishing, cooking and just spending time with people I trust.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints before I was born and even before they were married. I have always been active in the Mormon church and was baptized when I was 8. I still remember it to this day. I served a mission in the Philippines and currently serve as a ward clerk. I gained my surety about Christ's Church much like everyone has to. I studied the scriptures, I prayed for the truth and I listened. I didn't have a specific "light in the sky" moment, but a feeling of peace and comfort-just knowing. Since then my surety has grown. I see how intricately the gospel of Jesus Christ has become interwoven in my life and the results. I choose good friends, I try to make good decsions and I try to be someone anyone can come to in trouble. I'm not perfect, and sometimes I'm upset with myself that I didn't do better or try a little harder, but I always remember the Savior and the opportunity I have through his sacrifice and resurrection; so I try a little harder the next day. I really want all my friends and family to know how much the gospel has meant in my life, but it scares me that they may not understand or it might not be as important to them as it is to me. Being a member honestly has brought the best things in my life to me, such as family, friends, careers, blessings and knowledge.

How I live my faith

Serving in the Church is a large amount of my time. I currently serve as a boy scout committee member, in charge of program. I love the scouting program! I love the youth I serve and work with. It's the best thing I do! I love camping, hiking, fishing, wilderness survival, emergency preparedness and passing that knowledge on and teaching skills! I love working with the youth, I try to let them know I'm there for them with all the things in the world they have to go through every day. I hope I make a difference in their lives, giving my life more meaning. I also serve as a clerk. Meaning I help keep track of reimbursements, expenditures, donations, records and more! I hate keeping my own checkbook, but I spend lots of time making sure the Lord's is 100% correct! It's a someone thankless job and you know you're doing a great job when no one is sure exactly what it is you do! I take pride though in making everything seemless and as perfect as possible, I'm a perfectionist! I have an assignment to visit 8 families a month and make sure they are doing well. I try to bring a message with me but sometimes we just talk about things going on in our lives and making sure there is nothing they need or I can help with. I'm there to support and help them, but more times than not, it is the people I visit that lift my spirits and help me through hard times. It's the blessing of service. The best thing, it's all for no pay! It's amazing that the Church works so perfectly and it's all volunteer! From the bishop to the sunday school teacher, we volunteer our time and effort to serve each other.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I love the outdoors! I love majestic mountains, beautiful landscapes, blue water and at night the lights of space. I think those are the moments that bring me closest to my Heavenly Father. I feel my Heavenly Father's love most during my roughest moments when I humble myself and pray and ask for help. I realize there is something that I can't do on my own and that I need His help. I see evidence of Heavenly Father in the actions of others. I think watching people serve another, reassures my knowledge of a God the most. Whether it's smiling at someone who's sad, laughing with those who are lonely, or giving to those who need, it reminds me of everything my Heavenly Father did for me and for you. I'm his son and he loves me! If you want to know your Heavenly Father, serve and help others! Show more Show less
