Hi I'm Jon

I grew up in Idaho. I now live in Missouri. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my family. My wife and I have been blessed with 3 wonderful children who lighten our day and keep us on our toes. We feel fortunate to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in our home and in our lives to serve as a guide each and every day. I can't think of anything in my life that brings me more joy and happiness than spending quality time as a family. If I am not at home or with the kids, I can usually be found at the hospital, where I work as a physician. You can also find me in the gym playing basketball, at the diamond, watching my son play baseball, or at the auditorium, watching my daughter dance.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in Idaho and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Even though I was taught by my parents at a young age the teachings of the Savior from the Bible and The Book of Mormon, I had to come to know for myself the truthfulness of this church. At the age of 14, I had a great opportunity to visit Palmyra, New York where the Prophet Joseph Smith had a divine answer to one of his prayers. As I walked around the quiet grove of trees where this experience occurred, the spirit witnessed to me that what Joseph Smith said had happened, really did happen. He saw God, the Eternal Father, and his Son, Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith was an instrument in restoring the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon was translated and stands as a second witness of our Savior. And we have a prophet on earth today who stands as a beacon of light in our world today. These things I know to be true and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The gospel of Jesus Christ serves as a constant guide for myself and for my family. I can't think of a day that has gone by in which I have not been influenced for the good by the teachings of our Savior. Because of this, I earnestly strive to teach my children the importance of Jesus Christ and his sacrifice that he made for each and every one of us. My faith influences the decisions I make at home as well as the decisions I make at work or in every day life. It is who I am. On Sundays, our family dedicates time to worship at church but we have also set aside Sunday as a time to spend together as a family. We also dedicate Monday nights as a family night and often spend time throughout the week in various activities at church or at home.
