Hi I'm Jan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a divorced mom of 3 grown daughters and gramma of 3 beautiful grandchildren, I love the outdoors, gardening, hiking, swimming, and family outings and get togethers. I work in a warehouse, and have been there for 16 years. I am a college student, working on my Associate of Arts degree in Medical Administration, and have 3 courses left to get my degree. I am the only member of my family that is a member of the church.

Why I am a Mormon

It was a bit over eight years ago now, I was a dating a member, he told me if I was ever interested in going to church with him let him know. I was going through a bit of a depression at the time. I remember there were days that I would walk into my job and I just could not stop crying. Finally, I asked my friend if he would bring me to his church. He met me at my house and I followed him in my car. When I walked into the church it felt like I was home and an amazing weight was lifted off of my shoulders. After I started going to church, I started feeling better at work, the crying wasn't as bad, I would talk to Heavenly Father whenever I felt depressed and ask him for strength to get through the day as time went on I was feeling better, I asked my friend if I could stay for the 3 hours and he asked if I would like to meet with the missionaries, so I did. The depression kept getting better as I went through the missionaries lessons. It was about 6 months after I started going to church right before my 45 birthday, they asked me if I was ready to become a member. I joined the church a couple of weeks after my birthday it was Thanksgiving Day weekend. Through this time with asking for Heavenly Fathers strength whenever I felt depression coming on, I very rarely have any problem with it anymore. I count on Heanvenly Father and Christ to be with me, I need their strength and that is way I stay with the gospel and go to church nearly every Sunday. I love my callings in the church and feel like a part of it.

How I live my faith

right now my calling is with the primary children, I am the secretary of the Primary. I love my calling and all the callings that I have had in primary. I enjoy doing my visiting teaching and love all the sisters that I have visited and visit me. I was the single adult coordinator for many years and enjoy doing the single activities and the single conferences. I also, enjoy giving rides to whoever may need a ride to church or to any activities.
