Hi I'm Heather

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Special Education for students with severe disabilities. I've been married for just over a year. I love to bake and cook for people, as well as throw parties and get-togethers. Being with people is my passion.

Why I am a Mormon

While I've been a Mormon all my life, I have gained a testimony over the years of the truthfulness of this church. As a child, my father was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away. Because of the LDS church, I knew that my family could be together forever and thatI would see my dad again! It was a great comfort in a hard time. I also love being a Mormon because I get help in my day to day life. As I read the Book of Mormon and Bible and pray every day, I learn new things which help me cope with the daily struggles from school and work. I can feel God's love for me as I do these things, and because of that I have true happiness every day!

How I live my faith

In church, I am the leader over the children ages 3-12. I get to teach them, sing with them, and learn with them, and I love it! As mentioned before I live my faith as I pray and study the scriptures every day, which makes my days go better and I know that God helps me more as I show Him my devotion to Him. Each Monday night, my husband and I have Family Night, where we set aside time to study topics from the scriptures and the living prophets, like Thomas S. Monson, as well as do fun activities together.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Heather
I know that because of my faith, my husband and I have had a great marriage and will continue to have a great marriage! As we both have trust in God, and as we try to be more like Him, we treat each other with respect. We work harder not to be selfish but to meet the needs of our spouse. Also, because we were sealed in the temple, we know that only if we keep God's commandments can we live with each other for eternity, which is something we both really want. So, we work together to keep the commandments and be the best we can be. As we work hard to be righteous, we have a better marriage where we love each other more and respect each other more.
