Hi I'm Heather

I love being a Mormon!

About Me

I am a stay at home mom, where I take care of my two twin boys and little girl. I love my family and know that being in the home teaching these children is the best and most important place for me to be! While it is the most exhausting choice I have made, it is also the most rewarding. I find so much joy and satisfaction in providing an environment where the spirit can be so my family can have a place of refuge. When I get the time to have down time, I have found I enjoy working on wood crafts and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of the church, but I continue going because of the difference it makes in my life. My membership in the church has brought me a lot of peace. It is my refuge from the storms of life - from crazy schedules and trying to keep up with everything going on to the guilt and anguish from past mistakes. Whenever I start to feel weighed down and overwhelmed with life, if I will take time to get on my knees and talk to my Heavenly Father and spend time listening and studying his word, I find a balance and knowledge that everything will work out. I have found the peace that comes from turning to the Lord and letting him carry our burdens. Jesus Christ not only paid for the sins of all mankind, but he also bore our sorrows, our griefs, our pains. The fact is, no one on earth knows EXACTLY how we feel, EXCEPT the Lord because he went through it with us and for us. He is the only one that can bring us comfort and can heal us. As I have prayed, I have felt His comforting influence and love over and over again. He loves us and will always be there for us.

How I live my faith

The biggest way I implement the gospel in my life is here at home. My husband and I enjoy having scripture time with our children at night before they go to bed and having family prayers with them. It has been rewarding to see them start to remember concepts we are trying to teach them. I am amazed that even when they are being crazy and I think they are not listening, they will comment and I realize they are. I attend church on Sundays and have the opportunity to work with the ladies of our congregation in the Relief Society program. I also have the pleasure of visiting several of the ladies of our congregation every month. It has been a joy to become their friends!

What are Mormon Temples used for?

Temples are houses of worship where we can feel closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as we pray and ponder their teachings. It is a place of peace. It is a place where we make covenants with our Heavenly Father to live a life like the Savior lived and also where we perform ordinances for the living, such as eternal marraige where families can be united forever and and for the dead such as baptisms for those who have already passed away and never had the opportunity to learn about Jesus Christ. Those that have passed away will have the opportunity to accept the baptism that was performed on their behalf or reject it. Show more Show less
