Hi I'm Jan

I am a reactivated Momon. After years of addictions I returned to my faith to find healing, love, and true Joy in my life.

About Me

I was born into the Mormon faith but didn't develop a strong testimony until several years ago. I suffered for 25 year with Anorexia/Bulimia and prescription drug abuse. These addictions ruined my first temple marriage and almost ended my life. While in rehab for the 8th time I pleaded with the Lord to free me from bondage. I was inspired to read my Book of Mormon and pray daily. This opened the windows of Heaven. After my release from rehab I started going to church and living the commandments. Soon after I met my future husband who was just what I needed to help me on my spiritual journey. We were married in the Temple 8 years ago and life keeps getting better and better. I am 100% free of my addictions and know from where my blessing comes. I have so much joy in my life that I can hardly contain it. I love to hike, swim, and go on long walks on the beach. Life is so good that I can hardly believe it. I am so glad that I decided to go back to church. It has changed my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I want to be. I know that is the key to my happiness. I know the difference. The years I wasted not going to church and living the commandments were horrible. When I returned to my faith my whole life changed. I know that the only way that I can stay addiction free and have joy in my life is by being spiritual. It is a must for me to pray earnestly, study and ponder the scriptures daily, and keep the commandments. That is my key to happiness.

How I live my faith

My whole world is centered on my faith. My husband and I are the first missionaries on this island for the church's 12 step Addiction Program. I am the facilitator. We hold several meetings a week and have recently begun serving in the jail. I have a lot of love and compassion in my heart and enjoy serving others. I read the scriptures and Conference issue of Ensign daily. I strive to keep all of God's commandments and do good continually.
