Hi I'm Blake

Recent college graduate. Love to play sports, enjoy everything music, and serve others. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently finished graduate school. My hobbies include everything sports and anything music. Love to sing, play musical instruments, and do the "name that song" game. I stay active through running, ultimate frisbee, snowboarding, and racquetball. Love my mom, dad, and two younger brothers. Grew up in Texas, where my parents still live. I believe that family is the most important thing in the world. Currently work as a systems auditor at an accounting firm. Though a career is important, my faith and personal beliefs define who I am. Grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was raised by my Mormon parents, the decision to actively practice has been up to me. I know that the Church is true, the fulness of the Gospel has been restored by modern day prophets, and that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that there is a greater purpose to this life. There are many opportunities for me to serve others within and outside the Church.

How I live my faith

I actively serve in my local Ward and help plan activities. I visit members of the Ward to find ways of performing service. In past summers I have served as a youth counselor to teach youth at camps. Worked with young men in the Boy Scout program and served as a summer camp leader.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Blake
Not all Church members are required to serve a mission. It was my personal decision to serve a mission, which has been some of greatest two years of my life. I wanted to set an example for my two younger brothers, and I'm grateful that one has served his mission in Alaska and the other is serving in New York City. Serving in Hungary has been an incredible experience. I love the Hungarian people, language, and culture. Most of all I loved serving the people and sharing the message of the restored Gospel. The Book of Mormon is true and changes the lives of those who sincerely read and pray about its truthfulness. Show more Show less
