Hi I'm Kylee

I'm a wife to a grad student. A mom to a beautiful and busy 2 year old. I teach preschool in my home. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One of my true passions is teaching. I taught elementary school for a few years before becoming a mom. I now teach preschool in my home to 3 and 4 year olds (my dream job). I truly think my training and experience as a teacher helped me to prepare for parenthood. As a teacher, you learn that kids are motivated and learn differently. You learn that unconditional love and time can help a child overcome the challenges life has to offer, especially feelings of inadequacy, and become successful human beings. I love to watch children learn and gain confidence in who they are. My beliefs and ideals as a parent are similar to the ones I have as a teacher. I love being a mom. I never knew it could be so challenging and rewarding. I also never expected that my love for my daughter could be so strong. I hope to raise our children to know who they are and what they are capable of. The knowledge that you came from God is so empowering, especially in times of trial and uncertainty. I want my children to grow to be hard-working, kind, and happy people. I am so happy to be working through this life, with a very fun and loving husband. We love being together above all else. Our budget is still tight, while he's finishing school, but it doesn't take any money or fancy restaurant to have a good time with one another. I feel the best about myself when I'm with him. He strengthens and supports me and makes me want to be my best self. That's what marriage is all about.

Why I am a Mormon

My goal in life is to be a happy person, truly happy. I know that my happiness is completely up to me and the choices I make in this life. Living the gospel standards and striving to be more like the Savior is what brings me this happiness. I know Heavenly Father sent us to this earth to learn and grow and be happy. He wants us to be happy. Being a Mormon helps me fulfill my mission here on earth. I know that when we know God and love him, we can truly start to love ourselves. We are capable of so much if we love ourselves and know our divine nature. I am so grateful that among all the uncertainty in this world, I can turn to the true and stable source of the Church for peace and direction. I know this Church is true because I've studied the scriptures, experimented upon the word, and asked God. My testimony is strengthened every time I attend church with an open heart, study my scriptures with a purpose, serve my fellow man, and pray to God searching for answers. I cannot deny that God loves each one of us individually.

How I live my faith

Each month I visit three young moms in my ward/area. This is called a visiting teacher. The purpose of visiting teaching is to spiritually strengthen the families in our ward and make sure their physical and emotional needs are taken care of. It is always an uplifting experience for me to be with girls in similar situations as myself and see their strength and testimony. It only makes sense that in the Lord's church, we are responsible to follow the example of the Savior and take care of one another. I also serve as ward missionary. I help the full-time missionaries teach and serve people in our area who've been recently baptized or are investigating the church. I love being able to attribute the peace and joy that is in me to the gospel of Jesus Christ and help bring more souls unto Him. One of my favorite scriptures is in 1 Peter 3:15: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." I love being able to share my experiences and testimony of the Church with those who are newly learning about the Church.
