Hi I'm Linda Weaver Clarke

After raising 6 daughters, I now tour the U.S. teaching people how to write their family history and autobiography.

About Me

I am the mother of six daughters and have several grandchildren. After my family began leaving the nest, I decided to go back to college and get a degree. It had been 30 years since I had been to college and it was one of the most frightening things I had ever done. I had to learn how to study and take tests all over again. The first day of college, I was a nervous wreck and wondered if I could do this. I was apprehensive about my decision, but with the support of my husband and children I realized I made the right decision. After I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2002, I submitted some manuscripts to publishers and became an author in 2005. Wow! I am now doing things that I never dreamed would ever happen to me in my later years. I now travel throughout the United States, teaching people to write their family history and autobiography. I have traveled to seventeen states and given over 450 workshops. I am the author of six historical sweet romances, four mystery adventure novels, a children’s book, and a cozy mystery series. One of my books, Melinda and the Wild West, was a semi-finalist for the “Reviewers Choice Award.” I also have two non-fiction e-books: "Writing Your Family Legacy" and "Reflections of the Heart." All my books are family friendly. I feel that my faith in god is an influence in my writing and my goals in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a deep faith in my Father in Heaven and my Savior and have been so blessed. I had an experience in my life that helped me to know that my Father in Heaven loved me. At the young age of 13, it was discovered that I had scoliosis of the spine. I was told that I would have a series of operations and several casts and would be laid up in bed for weeks at a time. I was devastated. I couldn't believe this was happening to me. My young teenage life seemed to come to an end. I wept. I prayed. I asked Heavenly Father to help me endure what was to come. I was operated on and for the next 3 years I had casts and braces. The amazing thing was how my faith grew during this time. I felt the loving presence of my Father. I knew he was close by, helping me to endure. My faith grew during this time in my life and I realized how much He loved me. It was at this time that I realized how strong my testimony was. I could endure anything as long as I had my Father in Heaven nearby. Years later, at the age of 21, I served an LDS mission and taught the Spanish-speaking people. I learned to love these people with all my heart. I taught them something that was dear to me. Why am I a Mormon? Because I love my Father in Heaven and my Savior.

How I live my faith

My husband and I have been involved in many things. While he taught scouting, I led the church choir. It was fun teaching a Sunday School class together as a couple. We taught the teachings of the New Testament, Old Testament, and the Book of Mormon. We also sent three of our daughters on missions to teach people the gospel. I try to improve my life at all times and in any situation.

How can I know Mormonism is true?
