Hi I'm Eric

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid sport player. I love playing soccer, it is my favorite. I love just calling up friends and just playing for fun. I like to play Fifa on the Xbox 360. I enjoy reading, especially books written by James Patterson. I like to go to the beach and skim board. I love clothes especially shoes. Vans and Nikes easily steal my heart. I served a mission in Iceland for two years enjoying the wonderful people who call that country home and the sweet message I had to share. I love to travel and I have been to a handful of countries in Europe.

Why I am a Mormon

This is a wonderful question. When I was growing up, I actually had no clue why I was a mormon. I honestly just followed what my parents taught me, without having a true testimony for myself. I finally knew that this church is true when I was actually serving my mission. I read the Book of Mormon, I prayed, and I studied the Gospel very intently and that is formula of how I received my answer. I like to think that I am a logical person, and this religion simply has the answers to all of life's questions. When I think back to the Old Testament times, there were Prophets. This church has Prophets. When I think back to the New Testament, there were Apostles. This church has Apostles. When I think back the true church had the priesthood authority. This church has the priesthood authority. Why wouldn't the true church have all of these beautiful things? God hasn't changed nor will he ever change. We can all come to know if this church is true by actually living the commandments and to read and pray concerning the Book of Mormon. There was a long period of time in my life when I wasn't obedient to God's commandments, and that time was the hardest and darkest period of time in my life. Sadly, I didn't know that the church was true. When I strive to obey God's commandments I am simply happy. I know that when one honestly seeks to find which church is true, the answer will come.

How I live my faith

There is a scripture in the New Testament in James 2: 17 "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone." I love this scripture because if I don't exercise my faith then I am going to lose it. I cannot be on a spiritual plateau sort of say. I am either increasing in faith or decreasing. I live my faith by keeping God's commandments. I love to serve other people, it just makes me feel good. I go to church every sunday. I study my scriptures every day. I pray morning and night. There is so many ways I live my faith. Personally, I think the best way I live my faith is by staying true to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

What is being a Mormon like?

I have always been asked this question ever since I can remember. Being mormon is honestly the best thing ever. We have high standards for example we don't drink, smoke, have sex before marriage, we go to church every sunday, we do service, we don't curse, we believe in strong family morals, and the the list can go on and on. But when I hear things such as these, I think to myself " why wouldn't people want to live their life in such a manner? " Being a Mormon isn't as weird as most people think. It is actually quite fun, because even though we have standards and people think it takes away our freedom. It actually gives us more freedom than the average person. We are very busy people that is for sure. We have things called "church callings" where we volunteer to help and serve other church members, we have activities to go to, we need to set time apart to study the scriptures and to pray, and we have to work and to take care of our families. Being a mormon is basically living a normal life just standing up for what is right. Show more Show less
