Hi I'm Heather

I live in a small town, I have seven children, I love to make good bread.

About Me

Hi I'm Heather. I live in a small town where all the kids kindergarten to 12th graders go to school in the same building. Now that's small. I have seven children four boys and three girls. We are very active in sports whatever it is and that keeps any mom busy. Our most loved sport is basketball and we seem to never get enough of it. Participating in games and watching family members participate pretty much is our life a good part of the year. I also teach 6 of my 7 children to play the piano. We get up in the morning get our practicing done and off to school they go. With that many kids life is very demanding and for a mother there's always work to be done. I make home made bread. I try to keep a year supply of food. I also believe in living within your means. I grew up on the beach and now I live in the mountains. I love to read anything that interests me. I take the time to exercise at least five days a week because it makes me feel good and because that's how I take care of me.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is a great privilege. I was raised in the lds faith and have tried to follow it's teachings my whole life. Being a member of the church has brought great blessings in my life. Some of these blessings are just knowing what I want in life and where I'm going. Following the example of Jesus Christ helps me know what to do, how to act in situations, how to raise my children, and most importantly what brings true joy in life. As a member of the church I still have worries, problems, and trials just like everyone else but there is great peace and comfort that I feel that gets me through, that only comes from living the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. My life is fulfilling, rewarding and meaningful the more and more I understand the plan that God has for me and my part in it.

How I live my faith

I am very active in all areas in my community. I help when I can but I'm not afraid to say no. I am able to serve best by teaching my kids values and strong beliefs that help them influence others. I have a strong belief in families and family time is very sacred to me. On Monday nights no matter what is going on even if there is a practice or a game for a sport we stay home and miss it. Nothing can replace sacred family time. I always tell my kids that your family is a team and that is the most important. I believe that because of strong families they make stronger, confident, and better youth. Since I have seven kids I take that very seriously. I believe in Jesus Christ and know that it is through his strength that helps me accomplish everything I'm supposed to daily. Sleepless nights with babies and demanding teenagers make life interesting but I feel that Christ is there with me in whatever I am doing. People may ask, how do you do it? For me it's quite simple, I get up in the morning early, I say my prayers, read the scriptures, and then rely on the strength of Christ to lead me, guide me, and to walk beside me throughout the rest of the day. Then I start over again the next day trying to be better than I was the day before.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

A husband and wife compliment each other. In a home where there is a husband and wife who love each other and serve one another the home itself is a better place. I believe that a husband is to provide and help the family not only financially but also spiritually. A mothers's role is to be a homemaker. To me that means she knows how to organize, clean, do dishes, clean laundry, she knows how to cook and therefore feed her family, teach her children all that she knows and most importantly to show love. The perfect balance and a great joy comes from a husband and wife working together with their various duties as husband and wife. Show more Show less
