Hi I'm Roger Reid

I am origionally from Southern California. I am the father of 5 with 2 grandkids. I live in Idaho where I own my own business.

About Me

I own my own manufacturing business where I am a design engineer. My interest in engineering came from my many years racing motorcycles. I always wanted to make things go faster. I don't race motorcycles anymore but I have started racing autocross with my sports car. I am building my own kit car in my spare time. Priority is, family first followed by work, church, then hobbies. I still have time for cars and racing but it makes for a buisy schedule.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember as a teenager I had a friend who was Mormon. One Sunday afternoon while I was hanging around with my Mormon friend, he suddenly disappeared. About the same time people started entering the house with the men wearing suits and the women wearing full length dresses. My first thought was that I needed to get out of here. Then the father of my friend put his hand on my shoulder and invited me to stay. Then I felt the spirit telling me that I should stay. I found out much later that the event was a Church fireside meeting. I didn't stay but it was my first experience with the spirit. I have never forgotten that experience and feeling. A was introduced to the Church when I was 27 by a friend at work. Never before had I been interested in religion. Then while listening to the missionaries and reading the Book of Mormon I felt the spirit. It was like my own personal revelation. I read the Book of Mormon and knew that it was true. 2 years after I became a member I was married in the Temple and I have been active ever since. I am the father of 5 with 2 grandchildren.

How I live my faith

Having been a member of the Church for 32 years I have served in many ways. I have been a Scout leader, basketball coach, baseball coach, ward missionary, several times as clerk and secretaries of church organizations. I plan to serve a senior mission when I grow up. I have worked in the Boy Scout District as a District leader which is community service, not church related. I currently serve as secretary to the Bishop.
