Hi I'm Melanie

I love spending time outdoors with my family gardening, hiking, biking. Indoors I love to read and eat PIE! I am a Mormon.

About Me

I have a great husband. We love to spend time together. We like to go to movies, eat spicy asian food, play golf, tennis, and run... (although he is in way better shape than me!) We have 4 kids. We like to go camping as a family, hike, bike, and read good books together. I am super lucky I get to stay home with the kids. I am really excited about their education and like to support their hobbies. I like to garden, read, and am very involved in the school and community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Mormon faith. So I have had many positive experiences from childhood learning about God with my family and at church. Those experiences helped plant seeds of faith and belief early in my life. I was always taught, though, that we cannot ride on another's faith. So when I was 19 I had a desire to know for myself what I believed. I went to the Holy Land for 5 months. I studied the Bible, and explored the places where Jesus ministered. I prayed a lot and read scriptures a lot. I learned for myself that the restored church that Joseph Smith taught really was the based on the same principles that Jesus taught his first apostles and disciples. It strengthened my faith in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I got a chance to pray about my faith and know for myself that it is right.

How I live my faith

I like to read the scriptures in the morning. It is like a cool refreshing drink of water to help me feel get ready for the day. Living Water!! Prayer helps me feel peaceful and happy also. I like to do these things to stay a happy mom and a nice person. I really think it helps me have more energy too!! I like to go to church. I can learn about God. I can share my talents with others. I can share God's love with those around me. Every time I get down or depressed I look for a chance to serve others. It always makes me happy and forget about my own problems.
