Hi I'm Kay Broach Suber

I grew up in Georgia. I am a convert and learned about the church in 1972 in Athens, Greece. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a first generation member of the church in my family. I joined the church when I was 26 years old. I met my husband at church in Atlanta, Georgia . We were both attending college when we met. We were married in the Washington D.C. Temple. When he finished Dental School, we lived many places around the world while he was in the Air Force. We adopted 3 babies while we were stationed in the Philippine Islands. I love reading, Camping, bird watching, cats, walking, hiking, sewing, crafts, art, volunteering in my community, being with my friends, having dinner parties and I love to cook! I have been doing genealogy and family history for over 40 years. I love teaching Genealogy classes and helping others find their ancestors.

Why I am a Mormon

I felt that I had been left behind in life for many years. I felt that there had to be more to life than what I was getting out of it. I felt that my life wasn't accomplishing very much. I wanted more happiness in life. I wanted to know Where I came from, why I was here on earth, and where was I going when I die. When I was learning about the church, I found out that I had to stop smoking and live the Word Of Wisdom. I had never been able to quit smoking before. I prayed to Heavenly Father about it and asked for the strength to do this as I really wanted to be baptized . I couldn't believe it but after 2 weeks, I had conquered this problem. This was a miracle to me and to this very day, I am still in awe that I actually was able to quit smoking and have never craved or wanted one again! I know for sure that Heavenly Father Loves me and blessed me in my efforts to stop smoking. I have lived the Gospel for 38 years now. I love the Gospel and have seen true growth in myself and have received great Love from living the Gospel and being a member of the church. It makes me a better person and a person who has learned that serving others brings so much happiness in this life. The teachings of Church ,that Families Can Be Forever, was the supporting factor that helped me to get through the death of our 12 year old son. It was the hardest thing to face dealing with his death, but I felt the ever loving companionship of the Holy Ghost and the loving arms of Heaveny Father wrapped around me during the grieving time. He wiped my tears and healed my wounds. He gave me strength when I thought I had no more. My struggles have been blessings in disguise and planned just for me and me only. I am a survivor of Breast Cancer and I see what is important in life. I live each day in awe and appreciation that I know my Heavenly Father loves me and knows who I am. My questions have been answered on where I came from, why I am here and where I go after death. I have found my peace.

How I live my faith

I attend Sunday services each Sunday and look forward to filling myself spiritually each week. I read the scriptures and learn how to live my life better from them. I pray each day for insight and strength for my family. I bless my food everytime I eat thanking Heavnley Father for the abundance he has given me. I am richly blessed in so many ways. I try to be a good example to my children and grandchildren and teach of Jesus Christ to them. I am a patriot and love being an American and living in this wonderful Land of the Free. I am a good neighbor and try to help anyway that I can. I volunteer in my community as I know that serving is a blessing to me. I enjoy visiting members of the church and learning from them. I honor my husband and love him dearly. I am thankful that we both know of God's love and help each other to be the best that we can be. I pay a tithing each month to the church which has proven to be a blessing as I am always provided for.. I love sharing the Gospel with my friends and neighbors so they know why I live the way I do and learn the truth about my faith and my religion.
