Hi I'm Jacy

I've lived in Utah all my life. I'm a stay-at-home mom of five and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love everything creative - although my favorite thing to do is probably modern quilting. I am a mom of five - 4 boys and 1 little girl and that is my main job. It's a lot of work and sometimes so challenging but it is what I have always wanted to do. I spend most of my time trying to stay organized so I can run my household in a way that my children can succeed and that we can grow closer as a family. I grew up in a very large family and we have had many challenges - mostly mental illness and addictions which has taught us all a lot. It has been and continues to be a struggle but we are working through it.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it brings peace to every aspect of my life. There is no circumstance I've faced that the knowledge I've learned being a member of the Mormon church hasn't helped me through. A few years ago, my then 3 year old twins were both diagnosed with leukemia. It was a hard time for our family with a lot of medical care and a lot of very scary circumstances. However, through the entire three and a half years of chemotherapy, through the knowledge I have of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I had the peace that no matter what happened to my boys, EVERYTHING WOULD BE OKAY. That the Lord was in control and that He had a bigger perspective than I did. That even if my children died, I would be able to be with them again and that Heavenly Father loved me and my children. It was a hard time but it was also a blessing because it proved to me that this church was true!

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith everyday by looking for ways to help others. I try to be kind and honest. I teach the young women in my church and challenge them to live their lives in a way that they will stand out among other girls by living righteously. Our goal is to let the light of our Savior shine through us. As a part of our youth program, the girls have a logo; a torch that symbolizes this. I wear my torch necklace everyday as an outward expression that I am trying to shine forth as a daughter of God. I also live my faith by teaching my children what I know about Jesus Christ. I read the Book of Mormon with them and testify to them that it is true. I pray with them everyday. I include them in serving others in our area and teach them the importance of helping others.
