Hi I'm Rachel

I grew up in California. I'm a college student. I have many weaknesses. I love everything about the Philippines. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing. I love all types of music! My favorite subjects in school are anatomy, physiology and sociology. I have dreams of becoming a RN one day. I served a mission in the Phillipines and speak Ilonggo a language hardly anyone knows about.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. My knowledge of the truthfullness of this church didn't come to me over night or in one experience but it came to me throught out my life time. I was born and raised in the Mormon religion and around 16-18 years old I began to think for myself. I wanted to know for myself if I really did belief all this stuff I was learning every Sunday. I prayed a lot those years. I read the Book of Mormon. I listened in church and gradually I began to learn how happy I felt and the change that had taken over me and I knew I was in a good place and that my Heavenly Father loved me and I gradually began to live the princepals I'd been taught and see the tender mercys of the Lord confirming what I was doing was right and true. I have stumbled quite a bit since then. I've made a lot of mistakes and I'm still overcoming many weakness I struggle with but I have know doubt in my mind that I have a loving Heavenly Father who lives and watches over me. That Jesus Christ lives and atoned for my sins and that I can overcome whatever challenges I may face. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God! I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives! I know that Joseph Smith restored the Church of Jesus Christ on the earth again through the power and authority given to him by God. I know God speaks to us today through his living prophet Thomas S. Monson. I know prayer works. I am so grateful for all my blessings. I am Mormon because I know as I keep the commandments of God and stay true to the covenants I made with my Heavenly Father that I will be happy and at peace and I know everytime I've put my will infront of the Lords I've never been happy. I am a Mormon and I am grateful to be one!

How I live my faith

I'm a visiting teacher. I'm am assigned to visit three young single adult girls around my age. I'm 24 years old every month. When I visit them we talk about our trails, struggles, what were up to, jobs, school, and of course sometimes marriage and I always ask if their is any way I can serve them. I share a short uplifting message with them and then leave after we say a prayer together. I have made a lot of good friends this way. I find that as I do my visiting teaching every month that both of us are uplifted and edified.
