Hi I'm Leah

I appreciate the arts, love the little things in life, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Leah, and I am 23 years old. I love music. I love to listen, sing, and play all kinds of it, and I highly enjoy going to all kinds of performances, concerts, and shows. I love to work, read, and exercise. I currently am working and going to school full-time, and I enjoy the sense of fulfillment I get when I complete a day's work. I like to be creative, and I'm working on learning new cooking skills and learning how to sew. I enjoy spending as much time with my family as I can, since I'm far away from all of them. I am the second oldest of four. I have an older sister and two younger brothers, one of which is currently serving a full-time mission for the church. I come from North Dakota, which was a wonderful place to grow up and I'm proud to call home. I'm surrounded by good friends who lift me up and encourage me to be better. I am usually scared at first to try new things, but the more I've put myself out there, the more I find I can do things I never thought I'd be able to do. I love the Church and the wonderful things it has to offer, and I try to make sure it's always a part of my life in everything that I do.

Why I am a Mormon

Missionaries found both of my parents' families, where they received their introduction to the church. They met in college, and now I'm here. Being raised in the Church, my parents did expect certain behaviors out of me, as there is a certain way that we live our lives. However, nothing was ever forced upon me, and I was the one who always made my own decisions. As a child, I learned of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father who had a plan for me. I learned that they wanted me to return to live with them again someday. Because of this knowledge, I made the decision to be baptized at age 8. I know with all of my heart that Christ ministered on the earth, even the Americas. I know that He suffered the sins and pains of all those who have ever been, ever are, and ever will be in existence. He died for me. This I know without a doubt. I also have read the Book of Mormon as well as the Bible, which are testaments of His life. I am able to know these things because I have kneeled down in prayer and asked, and I received an answer. I continue to pray daily to always remember my Savior and Heavenly Father, that I may have their Spirit with me. I know that there is a living prophet, as wells as other seers and revelators, on the earth that speak to us, just like in Jesus' time. I love to go to the temple and the peaceful feeling I get when I'm there. I know that I can be with my family for eternity, and that is so comforting. Because of all these things, I choose to do the best I can so that I can return to my Father in Heaven someday. I have felt the warmth stir in my soul letting me know the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For these reasons, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying and studying my scriptures daily. I desire to continue to build my relationship with Christ day by day. I also attend church weekly, as well as participating in different activities through out the week. I try to go to the temple as often as I can. I also try to share my testimony with others and be a good missionary. Service is also key. Showing others the love that you have for them is an incredible thing. I participate in paying one-tenth of all that I earn in tithes. I play the hymns on the piano in one of our church meetings every Sunday, and it's been rewarding to be able to share my talents in that way. I also do visiting teaching, which gives me the opportunity to meet with some girls in my ward and get to know them personally, become friends, and discuss Gospel topics.
