Hi I'm Kathy

I was adopted. I grew up in Kansas and Colorado.I've lived in Italy and Arizona. I have 8 children.I am a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I became a mom at 18 and never looked back. I have 8 children and have been married for 29 years. Family is most important to me. I was raised in a time when women were leaving home for work. But i stayed home. Now, that the children are nearly all grown, I have finished my teaching degree and am teaching full-time. I love to listen to music, bake, sew and learn new things.

Why I am a Mormon

My father came from a long line of Mormon pioneers. However, I never knew much about the Mormon church until I had a friend who was Mormon. So I began to study about the church. Shortly after I had my first baby, I questioned whether or not I should have her baptized or not in my religion. This prompted me to seriously question my current religion. As i read the Book of Mormon and attended meetings I felt strongly the LDS church was where I belonged. I felt so much good came from everything I saw in the church. But mostly, the spirit witnessed to me of its truthfulness. Also, upon studying my Mormon ancestry, I pondered upon the sacrifices made and the faith these pioneers must have had to suffer through the trials they did in order that they might live their beliefs.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be the light of Christ everyday. This might be through my church calling as a Sunday school teacher to the youth, or simply by having a family prayer. I make a commitment daily to live the gospel to the best of my ability. If I fail on one day, I just try harder the next. This is why repentance is so wonderful. We get many do-overs provided by our Savior, Jesus Christ.
