Hi I'm Francisco

I love life, I'm guatemalan and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in the central region of Guatemala, in a town called "La Antigua Guatemala". My hometown has a very small community of latter day saints; this has given me the opportunity to develop friendships with people of different faith, which has blessed my life as I learn to value and respect their beliefs and develop a unique sense of identity and closeness towards mine. I served as a full-time missionary in Fresno, California from May 2011 to May 2013. I’m studying in an online program from BYU-I so I hope to obtain a Business Degree in the near future. I play soccer, basketball, do some swimming, dirt-biking and contact sports. I enjoy listening to Cool Jazz, Bossa Nova and Cuban Salsa. I own an ultralight (it’s kind of a small airplane but not as fast) and flying around in it has become one of my favorite activities. I enjoy art in general, particularly Hispanic Poetry and old black and white cinema. I like reading although I can't sit still for too long =/. My favorite book is The Book of Mormon because it's true! and it plays a key role in the lives of many people. I have seen miracles in my own life by abiding by its principles.

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents joined the church before I was born, so I was blessed to be born in a home centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Is my experience that all of us, brought up in the church or not, will still need to come to know for ourselves if this church is true. If I could put into a formula the things I did to come to know that the church is true it would look something like this: I got rid of selfish ambitions + read The Book of Mormon + prayed continually for guidance + attended church regularly + render selfless service to others = My Conversion. My prayers where answer and now I know for myself that this church is the true church of God. I came to know that this is the Lord's organization on earth with the purpose of helping everyone of God's children walk more fully the path of discipleship.

How I live my faith

I invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.
