Hi I'm David Waugh

I'm kind of a big deal..... and I am a Mormon

About Me

I love this gospel and it has brought so much happiness to mine and my families lives. I grew up in Utah as a member of the church. I am currently serving the Lord as a full time missionary in the South Carolina Columbia Mission. I love every second of it. I love psychology, I rather enjoy figuring what makes people tick, helping others with their problems, and figuring out the stuff that drives people absolutely crazy. I love trying new things and I can pick anything up and become good at it pretty quick. I love to laugh. smile. and be nice just because. I don't stress and I have complete confidence that things will work out. They always do so no reason to worry about it. Nothing worthwhile in life is easy. I LOVE to win. I'm probably too competitive but that is alright. I love doing crazy things with my friends. I'm an adrenaline junkie. I am all about having fun in whatever I do. Happiness is a choice. I don't settle for second best. I'm a finisher.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because my dad decided to join the church after talking to the missionaries when he was 19 years old, he then met my mom and I was born into a family with 2 loving parents who wanted the best for me and took me to church every sunday taught me the gospel and encouraged me to the live the best life possible. When the teenage years hit like most I became a little rebellious I still went to church but not because I wanted to, I wasn't reading my scriptures or doing the things I should have been doing, that went on for most of high school. On my eighteenth birthday I broke my leg snowboarding, while I was laying in the snow waiting for ski patrol I started questioning God. For the first time in my life I questioned him and for the first time I truly wondered if there really was a God and if there was why would he let this happen to me, Why me? Why now? And it was at that moment a scripture that I had read or heard the week before in seminary or church popped into my head D&C 6:36 it says, "Trust in the Lord in every thought, doubt not, fear not." At that moment an overwelming, undeniable peace came over me. The most peaceful, comforting, reassuring feeling that I have ever felt and I knew for myself that God was real. That I was his son and he loved me. It was at that moment that I knew for a certainty that I wanted to serve a mission and share this happiness that God is real and that he loves each and every one of us no matter who we are or where we are from, and that we are all His children with everyone that I possibly could. I am a Mormon because I have asked God through sincere prayer and I have received an answer and I know that because it worked for me it will work for you, God is no respector of persons, He loves each and everyone of us. He loves us so much and has promised us if we ask Him he will answer us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example of what is right. By keeping a smile on my face and letting others recieve the spirit of Christ through my countenance. By serving others. By living and loving the Gospel that Christ himself taught; Faith, Repentance, Baptism, Receiving the Holy Ghost, and Enduring To the End. By continually striving to become better and more like the Savior by repenting of and changing the things that I have done wrong. I live my faith by sharing with others what has made me happy.
