Hi I'm Meg

I am a blogger, photographer, entrepreneur, and mom of 2 living in southern California. My life is a vacation. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with my MA in education. Before that, I taught in D.C. at a performing arts high school. I am certified to teach theatre and English and I used to perform in musicals in college. Now I stay home with my 2 kiddos and run a business from home. I enjoy writing, and also keep up a food & lifestyle bog which helps provide for my family. I was raised an Apple geek and love all things technology. Seeing talented artistry makes me smile. I love a good book, a new artist, a great photographer, or a funny show. I come from a family of acting/film-making enthusiasts/wannabe comedians and we enjoy good entertainment! I am very close to my family and my husband's family, and life is pretty much as good as it gets.

Why I am a Mormon

There are two huge reasons why I will always be a member of the church: 1) The church has given me the understanding of a Savior who loves me enough to provide a way for me to change, to be forgiven, and who loves me through my mistakes as I learn. 2) The message of the church gives me the knowledge that I will be with my family for eternity. I love my family more than anything, and I know that God wants family to be the center of our lives. I am a Mormon, in short, because I recognize that my happiness is directly related to the way I live the teachings daily. My relationship with my Savior is a close one. I know what I am here to do and I try to do that. It is when I feel stressed, disconnected, or unhappy for any reason that I realize I need to strengthen this relationship. I was raised a Mormon, but as I have lived on my own, met different people, and been at different places in my life, I have learned that Heavenly Father doesn't expect me to be perfect. He just wants me to try. Daily. To do my best. He will help me, and I can right most anything I wrong if I do.

How I live my faith

I have had various callings in the church. Many of them teaching-related, now that I think of it. I taught the young children in Sunday School, and I taught my peers in Gospel Doctrine and in a Marriage & Family class as a single member. (Teaching about being married to singles as a single = tough) I was on activities committees and homemaking committees, and I have worked with the young women. I am currently the choir director in my ward, and I love the chance to use my talents to serve and bring the spirit into the meetings.
