Hi I'm Catie

I am in grad school, love the arts and and all things food. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 24 years old. I studied art and theatre as an undergraduate and just finished my first year of a master's program in school psychology. I come from a very mixed and blended family. Though we're all really different from each other I love spending time with them. We love to cook together, tell stories, and laugh. I'm all about traveling and learning about different cultures from insiders' perspectives. I love life!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have found that the Gospel is really the only way to attain lasting happiness and joy--even in the hard times. There aren't many guarantees in this world, but the only guarantee that we have is the comfort and the assurance of having Christ's spirit with us if we keep His commandments and do our best to follow Him. I haven't always know that, but I made the decision to give it a try and started small: reading about Christ in the scriptures, praying and having faith in getting an answer, making good decisions and being in places where I could recognize spiritual promptings, etc. I felt SO much happier as I tried to live the Gospel! It created a snowball effect where I felt good as I lived a certain principle (i.e. tithing or prayer) and then gained the courage to follow more fully and devote more time and energy to learn about Christ. Though I still don't know everything, I can't deny the blessings of peace and assurance that I feel and recognize so tangibly. I know that Christ is with us always as we seek Him, and through His love and Atonement we can find hope to be better and feel true joy.

How I live my faith

I served a mission for a year and a half in South Korea. I talked with people about the blessings of the Gospel and the possibility of living with our families forever. I now try to serve others by volunteering in my community and by being a good friend. I am involved in young single adult activities in my ward. I also visit with other girls my age in my ward as we learn and grow together.
