Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a dedicated college student. I am a sister and a daughter. I'm trying to find my place in this world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 20 year old college student just trying to do what is right. I love sports, especially football, and love watching them with my family. My family is the greatest thing that I could ever have in this life. I know that my family, and every family, is the reason we are here on this Earth. I love the connections that we have with each other and know that they are divine. I love to read. I am an English Literature Major at my local college and I love it. I believe education to be one of the most important things that we have been given and I am striving to get all the education I can in order to be able to understand the things of this world that have been given to us by our Heavenly Father. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am an active member of my faith and I know my divine nature is just like yours. We both have a Heavenly Father who loves us and a Savior who died for us that we can return to Heavenly Father. I love this knowledge and it's the greatest and only thing that will get us through life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was raised one. That may sound like the wrong reason to be a Mormon but it's the greatest reason because I was lucky enough to be brought up in a religion that preaches love and an absolute faith in Jesus Christ. I became converted multiple times in my life. Every time I read the scriptures I feel the Holy Ghost testifying to me that these words are from God and that He inspired holy, righteous men to write them down for us to read. Every time I attend church and partake of the Sacrament I feel the effects of the Atonement as I covenant once more to keep the commandments and strive to be more Christ-like every week. I am extremely lucky to have my testimony of the gospel. I know that Heavenly Father created us in His own image so that we could live on this Earth and choose Him over Satan. I know that He chose, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer to atone for our sins and wash them away from us so we can continue to live clean and pure. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God so that we can have complete record of the ministry of Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon compliments the Bible. They teach the same principles and characterize the same Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know that if you read the Book of Mormon, there will be no doubt in your mind that it is true. It is a testimony of Christ as He visited the children of God. If you would like to find a testimony of it, you should read it and pray about it. There is absolutely no harm in getting on your knees and asking God questions. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the current prophet on the Earth. I sustain and pray for him every day because I know that God speaks to him and has spoken to every prophet that has led this church. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ restored their gospel to the Earth so that we can return to heaven and help each other along the way.

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I feel that what you believe in is best portrayed by how you act. I am surrounded by others my same age that feel and act the same while inspiring me to be better. It's an amazing spirit listening to other people my age share their testimonies and experiences with this gospel. I also love to attend church every Sunday. I currently attend a Young Single Adult ward which is full of people my age. I love meeting with people my age and hearing their testimonies as we discuss the gospel. I think that if you truly believe in something, you will do your best to act and live the way you believe. I try my best to live the gospel because I believe in the gospel. It's very difficult in this world today. There are so many influences and different things that would probably be fun but wouldn't give me the lasting and eternal happiness that trying to live the gospel gives me. No one is perfect and of course I make mistakes, but that's the beauty of the gospel. The Atonement of Jesus Christ is there for me to repent and become clean so I can keep on doing my best to live the gospel. I have total faith in the Savior and what He has done for me and I know that through His death and resurrection, I can return to my Heavenly Father. This eternal perspective is what keeps me going. When I do my best to live the gospel it is easier to see eternity and the spiritual path of getting there.
