Hi I'm Jared Clay

I'm a Son, Brother, Gymnast, Missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm 20 years old and I am on a mission in Lansing Michigan. I am currently serving in the West Branch MI area. I have served in the Portland, Harrison, Houghton Lake, Ludington, and Oscoda Areas. My mission has taught me alot about My Heavenly father and his son Jesus Christ and His Atoning sacrifice. I have come closer to them by serving them. I was a gymnast for 15 years and I coached for 2 years. Gymnastics has been part of my life pretty much since I was born, and it will probably be a part of me for the rest of my life. Competed all over the country. I have lived for the past year in Kenai Alaska. I love Alaska. It is the Best place on earth to live. Well if you like cold and the outdoors. Family is something that is big for me. I am from a big family. 7 Siblings, 5 brothers and 2 Sisters. Being the second oldest and the oldest boy puts a lot of responsiblity on my shoulders but it has been a blessing to have that many family members have and be able to just have fun.

Why I am a Mormon

Well there are several reasons but the number one reason is the I know that it is true. It has given me great strength to endure lifes challenges’, which can be very difficult.

How I live my faith

For me I am living my faith by serving a mission. I want to show my faith to God by serving him.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Jared Clay
When Jesus Christ was on the earth he established a church founded on Apostles and Prophets(Eph 2:19-20). He also gave his Apostles special Authority or permission to act in Gods name, which is Called the Priesthood. After Jesus Christ and the Apostles were killed that Priesthood was last. With the lost of Authority people began to change doctrine and ordinances. The Apostles prophesied of the falling away or Apostasy (Thessalonians 2:1-3). The Apostle Peter prophesied of the “restitution of all things” before Christ’s Second Coming (Acts 3:19-21). Having been lost because of the Apostasy, Christ’s Church and His authority were to be restored to the earth. This Restoration would make available the opportunity for all to receive once again all of the blessings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Joseph Smith’s First Vision marked the beginning of the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. Christ restored His priesthood and reorganized His Church. He has continued to reveal truths to His prophets and to restore the blessings that were taken from the earth for a time. Show more Show less
