Hi I'm Alyssha

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Alyssha. I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ for 5 years. When I first joined I was 18 years old and living in Vegas. Right after high school I moved to Utah and went to school. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 3 years and we have a 20 month old son. I am stay at home mom always on the go. I love to do crafts (getting better), sewing (trying), crocheting, swimming and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up catholic. I never really went to church when i was younger but i remember having people in my live who kept reintroducing God to me. I always just knew that there is a God and i always made sure i made it right choices. I went to different churches and listened to what they had to say and to see how they all lived. But each one never really had what I was looking for and so I never committed to any of them. My mom moved us to Vegas when i was 16 years old in the middle of my high school career. It was hard but i got by and was still looking. I thought i might have found a church i liked and I don't remember what it is called but my aunt and uncle go there. When i was 17 my mom found a house on the northwest of Las Vegas and we had barely moved in. I went out to check my mail and while i was half way to the other side of the street 2 missionaries parked in front of our house because they were visiting our neighbors. I was almost to my house when they stopped me and asked if they can ask me a question. It was about their church and was wondering if i would like to hear more. I was going to tell them no but i didn't want to be rude so i said Yes and we set up an appointment. From then one they came over every week and i started to go to church. I wanted to get baptized because i knew and know the church is true. I felt it when I went to Salt Lake City the first time with the young women, when i prayed and asked God if it was true, and I felt it when I went to church. My mom wouldn't let me until I was 18 because she just figured this was a phase and I would forget all about it. She wanted me to be sure i wanted to join the church because she said it was like getting married and you can really divorce a church. But once I turned 18 I got baptized a fews days after my birthday and man! the room was a standing room. There were so many people so loved me and wanted to support me. To this day I am going strong. My mom and sister have also joined.

How I live my faith

I try to attend all my meetings and to live my life how God wants us to. I visit teach those who I am to visit monthly and to help those in need and I try to volunteer when I can. I know life can be hard and I wont lie my faith is a little low but no matter what I know the truth and I know God loves us all. I try to be strong and be a help meet to my husband and to attend the temple whenever it is possible. I am teaching my child Gods Plan and his role.
