Hi I'm Sam

I'm currently serving in the Oregon Eugene Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for the LDS Church serving in the Oregon Eugene Mission. I'm a history buff, reader, gamer, and movie fanatic. Before my mission I played lacrosse in high school, hung out with friends, played guitar, and teased my family...in a loving way...

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, Yes, I'm another "Born-and-raised Mormon!" However I think for myself, and always will. I stayed Mormon because I was able to recognize the blessings of the Church when I was young. There is a hollow feeling from listening to what the world or the media teaches. When I started applying myself to the teachings of Christ and gained a greater understanding of his Atonement and Sacrifice, I felt a peace and joy that cannot be counterfeited. That feeling of peace and joy continues as I live the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I'm currently serving in the Oregon Eugene mission. As a missionary my purpose is to invite others to come to Christ. I try to help others understand their relationship with the Lord so they can experience the joy and peace that I do.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Sam
The missionaries will share our belief in Jesus Christ with you and explain how you can grow closer to Him, your family, and find even greater happiness in this life and the life to come. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Sam
Absolutely, God has always spoken to his children through his prophets and messengers. The Lord said in Amos 37 "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets." Today the Prophet is Thomas S. Monson. While he isn't currently parting the Red Sea like Moses did in his day, he is instead giving us counsel to avoid the maelstroms of life. Debt, declining family morals, drugs, addiction, and spiritual decay can all be avoided if we listen to his counsel. Peace, confidence, and spiritual wisdom are only some of the many benefits we receive when we follow the Lord's servants. The way to determine if he is a true prophet is to study his advice, and ask God in prayer if his Thomas S. Monson is His living mouthpiece. I have done this, and I know that he is.
