Hi I'm Sariha Shepherd

I grew up in a small town in California, I volunteer at the local library, museum, and Family History center. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hi my name is Sariha. I grew up in a small town in California. I volunteer at the local library for almost 9 years. I volunteer at the local Museum for 2 years and the Family History Center for almost 1 year. I also hold a part time job to help my family with the bills and saving for a full time mission. I love to paint almost anything. My brother, mom and I have been building and painting stage sets for almost 5 years. We enjoy working together. I also paint acrylic paintings. I do photography as well. I was also home schooled and was until I hit college. I have never stepped a foot in a high school in my life. I am studying in college to become an Anthropologist specializing in Archeology, with a minor in history.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church as both of my parents were as well. I was 14 years old and my life was falling apart, my parents were getting a divorce which was not the bad part as my parents have not gotten along since just after I was born. Things got bad at that time for reasons that were not good, and I got lost feeling like I was alone and that no one cared about me and I was sad for a good time. At that time I was not really going to church and when I went I was not in a good attitude. After the aftermath of the divorce I was afraid of my father who was not a nice person. For two years I was stressed and I was not taking good care of myself. When I got sick. I would sleep all day wanting the pain I was in physically and emotionally to go away. I had priesthood blessings and I felt like I was getting nowhere, my doctors could not even figure out was going on. When I finally broke down and I got on my knees in pray to my Heavenly Father. I poured my heart out to him for help. I remember crying in consent pray. I stared to read the Book of Mormon and after I would pray I would get this feeling of peace. My Heavenly Father healed me and he listened to everything my heart was holding. He knows everything about me and I knew at that point the church was true without a doubt. I know that he loves me and that is why I live his gospel and why I want to go on a mission.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church, reading my scriptures and saying my prayers. I am a Family History consultant, I also go with the Sister missionary's as often as I can and I try to attend all of my meetings.
