Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon. I'm from Orem, Utah, have a great wife, 5 kids, 12 grandkids. My wife and I lived in El Salvador-ask me why.

About Me

I come from a loving family and have a wonderful heritage of faithful Latter-day Saints, as does my wife. We are blessed with 5 terrific children and 12 adorable grand-kids. We love getting together, playing games (yeah, we are all pretty competitive!), making up stories, and laughing a lot. We usually get together with our extended families for one or two dinners a month and really enjoy being together (and especially enjoy Mom's great cooking). I am a business attorney, a sports fan-GO BYU COUGARS!, a recovering golfer, and happy to be a grandparent. I lived in El Salvador to serve as a Mission President for three years with my wife. We were so blessed to have the opportunity to meet and love almost 700 of the best LDS Missionaries in the world, and thousands of great faithful members. We witnessed the conversion of many people and the growth of the Church in that land. I am home now, back in Utah where I serve at the MTC in Provo and get to help newly-called Missionaries prepare to go into the field and strengthen their testimonies. It is as fun as serving in El Salvador. My wife and I love it. It is great to be able to with all our family again. They are a blessing to us in many ways. Also, I am practicing law at Kirton McConkie again. I help business owners find solutions to their problems and needs. And I still cheer each week for the BYU Cougars

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Mormon Church because my parents were members; as a teenager I began to gain my own testimony that the Mormon Church was the true church of Christ; that testimony increased as I served a 2-year mission to Santiago Chile at age 19. I have had many personal, confirming experiences since then that have strengthened my testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ as the Son of God. He is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind. I know for myself that He is resurrected and lives today. My family and I have been blessed in many ways because of His atoning sacrifice. I know that He restored His gospel to the earth through Joseph Smith, and His church is on the earth again today, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Our family has been blessed by the gift of Charity, which comes from Christ; we have felt His love for us often and been the recipients of many miracles. My wife is a living, walking example of Charity for all around her, including my family and me. Charity helps us feel kindly towards others and inspires us to serve and do good.

How I live my faith

I have served actively in The Church in many different capacities since I was 19. I have enjoyed most the positions where I could work closely with, teach, and, hopefully, inspire youth. I am the beneficiary of many other great youth leaders who inspired me as a young man, and I hope to do my best to serve in a similar way. We live in difficult times and our youth need strong testimonies to help them resist the evils of our day. The teachings of the Savior Jesus Christ, as found in the Scriptures and the words of Living Prophets, help us all to know and choose the right. I share His Plan and teachings with youth and adults to bless their lives and the lives of their families. Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement are the beginning, and with Repentance we cover the most basic and beginning steps to return to our Heaven Father. I love those doctrines, and I love teaching them.
