Hi I'm Dave

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Dave and I'm born and raised in California. I work as a Systems Engineer at a Defense Contractor in the Bay Area. I graduated form college in '06 and have been married since November of '07 to a beautiful and loving wife. We are so excited to have our first child come into our life this fall. I've been a huge sports fan all of my life and enjoy playing baseball/softbal, basketball, and volleyball as well as following my favorite teams during the MLB and NBA season.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Hmm, let's see. I remeber one of my earliest testimony building experiences was when my Grandma set down with me one Saturday afternoon and read with me the Joseph Smith story. She told me of how confused young Joseph was about all the christian religons and how he went into a grove of trees and knelt down and prayed, seeking knowledge from God and fully expected an answer. She then told me of the glory that unfolded as Joseph saw God the Father and the Son. Even though I was a young boy, I could feel the stirrings of the Spirit within me, letting me know this was true. As I grew up and my life experiences grew, I decided to put Moroni's promise to the test and read and pray about the Book of Mormon. Answers came slowly, but steadly at first, but then one Easter Sunday I watched a short video about the life of Christ and was struck with the most overwhelming feeling that I needed to pray and express my graditude to the Savior for all the things he had done for me. I remember feeling a powerful feeling of comfort and peace and closeness to the Savior as I prayed. I knew that the Savior was real, that he loved me, and wanted me to serve Him by sharing his gospel with others. I spent two years as a Missionary where my testimony of the Savior and the Book of Mormom grew and developed further. Since returning home from my mission I have experienced the inevitable ups and downs of life and have endure many health problems including 3 surgeries. Through it all, the light of the Gospel has been my beacon and has allowed me to forge ahead during tough times, knowing that if we trust in God, it will be alright in the end. I have been blessed to meet and marry a wonderful women who exercises faith in the Lord and to whom I could be sealed in the Temple of the Lord for time & all eternity. I can hardly wait to be a Father and tell my son the stories of Jesus and the Book of Mormom, so that he too may be as blesssed as I have by membership in the Church.

How I live my faith

My faith is woven into every aspect of my life. As a follower of Christ, I strive to always be an example of him and treat others and he would have them do. This includes community service such as helping out at the homeless shelter or pitching in to clean-up a park. As a member of the Mormon faith, I have served in several diverse ways such as spending two years as missionary, organized Monday night activities for a church singles group, taught a Sunday School class of four years olds, and have helped members of my congregation get the skills they need to find meaningful employment. And even though I fall short in my efforts to be as good as follower of Christ as I would like all the time, I know that as I endeavor to live my faith and help others, the Lord helps me with my struggles and trials and short comings.
