Hi I'm Tanya

I am a mother, artist, health fanatic, world traveler & business woman. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Quitting a 17 year career that I loved to pursue being a mother was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever made but I have never regretted it (except for those times it occurs to me that negotiating with a 3 year old is harder than my most difficult day as a Director!). It's a pity the world no longer values the great good a women does the world by being a dedicated mother & homemaker. I am an oil landscape & portrait painter. I have traveled in Canada, Mexico, China, Spain, Italy, France, Germany & Austria and hope to visit Australia & Greece when our children are older. I value The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints revelation on health, called the Word of Wisdom. We have two children and have been in the process of adopting a daughter from China for over four years!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the LDS church answers my questions about the purpose of life and Christ's restored gospel brings me peace & an eternal perspective in a world which offers neither. I know Christ's original church was restored to the earth by Jesus Christ through a boy named Joseph Smith. I feel the truth of this restored gospel when I read the Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants & Pearl of Great Price as well as revelations from modern prophets. In The Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:3-5 it says: "Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." By following the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have had many promptings from the Holy Ghost confirming the truth of the church's teachings and principles, and giving me direction in my life.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow Christ's teachings and teach my children the principles they need to know to be happy in this life and the next. I know when we do what God asks, we are blessed. I am extremely grateful for the blessings the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has brought into my life and I serve in my church wherever asked! Right now I am the President of our ward's (local congregation) women's group (Relief Society) which assists women in our ward and community but I have fulfilled many positions and have grown from each. Did you know that each member of an LDS congregation serves free of compensation regardless of whether they are teaching, leading or giving of their time & talents!
