Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a Mormon. I was born into the gospel. I have loved it all my life. I have never doubted it's truthfulness.

About Me

I am a 51 year old mother of four grown children. My husband, of 32 years, and I were married for time and all eternity in a temple of God. My husband is an Engineer and I work part time at our local elementary school. I love having the summers off! I like to sew, craft, and play on the computer. We have two adorable grandchildren, a boy and a girl. Two of our four children are married. We have three boys and one girl. Three of my four children are return missionaries and our fourth child is serving a mission now. What a blessing this has been to our family. My husband is our ward Young Men's president and I was just recently released as our Stake Young Women's President. I can't wait to get another calling and continue to serve our Heavenly Father.

Why I am a Mormon

I really can't tell you exactly when I gained my own testimony of the Gospel. I can tell you that as a young girl, I remember sitting in sacrament meeting and hearing my Mom tell of her testimony from the pulpit. I knew it was true because she said it was. I leaned on her testimony for a long time. As years have gone on and as I have gotten older, I have gained my own testimony. I love the way the spirit speaks to me and tells me it is true. I seem to always cry when this happens. It's just a feeling I get in my chest that is all warm and I feel it! Being able to recognize the spirit is just something I have gotten used to doing. I love the way it makes me feel and I yearn for that feeling. When I was a young mother, my two small children seemed to be really rowdy and uncontrollable. I didn't know what to do about it. I remember kneeling in prayer and asking my Heavenly Father for some guidance. After my prayer was said, the distinct feeling came to me that if I do what Heavenly Father wants me to do, he will bless me always. I learned that if I said my prayers, studied my scriptures and we had Family Home Evening as a family, my children were much better behaved. I also learned that if I was doing what I should be doing, it made it a whole lot easier to kneel and ask my Heavenly FAther for help. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only true church on this earth. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet and I also know that we have a living prophet on the earth today to lead and guide us. The Book of Mormon is true, it was written for our use today. It answers all questions. I know this church is true and I am so thankful for it in my life. It has given us so much help in raising our family. I can't imagine raising a family without the churches truthfulness! I know these things to be true. In the name of Jesus Christ A-men.

How I live my faith

I have always loved serving in the church. It seems like for a majority of my life, I have served in the youth programs. I have served in the primary as a teacher and in the presidency. I have served also in the Young Women's organization as a councilor and also as the president. I have always loved serving where my children were and I think I have done that pretty much all of my adult life. Working with the youth is so much fun and it sure keeps me young. I have also been a visiting teacher every since I started college. I love going each month and visiting with the ladies that are in my care. Through this, I have gained some life long friendships. Visiting Teaching is a wonderful program and keeps me in touch with other sisters in my ward.
