Hi I'm Debra

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

My husband and I are the parents of seven children, two daughters and five sons. We are blessed with many grandchildren. I am a farmer. I raise beef cattle, sheep, and hay. I enjoy working on my family history, indexing, and doing temple work. I enjoy working in my vegetable garden and caring for my fruit trees. I also like to spin yarn from the fleeces I raise and to knit. One of the hobbies I enjoy is driving my mini horses and cart. I also read with the children at the elementary school. My husband and I love to go camping together in the mountains. We also enjoy finding and reading good books.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because I believe it to be the only true church on the earth. I know that my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. I know that there are miracles taking place on earth today just like in the times of old when Jesus Christ walked the earth as a mortal. I have experienced these miracles in my own family and testify of them. I know that we have a true prophet on the earth today with counselors and twelve apostles just like in the days of old. Our prophet leads and guides our church as he is directed by and thru Jesus Christ, our lord and savior. I believe that the Family Proclamation is actual revelation for our day. I belive the priesthood has been restored to the earth for these latter days. I believe in fasting and prayer. I believe in paying an honest tithing and can testify of the windows of heaven being opened and blessings coming into my life. I believe in family home evening and how obeying the council of our prophet will enhance our lives. I know that I am blessed by studying the scriptures and keeping a journal. It is my prayer that anyone who reads my testimony may know of its truth and will desire to find out for themselves the doctrine of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have a testimony of eternal life and the plan of salvation. I know that we will live again and that we have a spiritual body as well as an mortal body. I know that we can be sealed as a family for time and for eternity. I know that earthly life is just a step in our existence. I am looking forward til the Lord's second coming. This is my testimony. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying diligently to do those things which are expectied of me. I do my best to follow the precepts of my religion and the counsel of my leaders. I try to magnify my callings, such as when I have been a teacher of little children or teacher for the adult women. Currently I am on the "provident living committee" helping the women with ideas to make their lives more efficient temporally, like knowing the basics of sewing, cooking, baking, budgeting, how to can food, and many more things. I also have the responsibility of visiting certain women each month to see how they are doing and if there are any needs that I or others can help them with. I volunteer to help in my community when there is an opportunity and extend a helping hand to my neighbors no matter what or if they have a religion.
