Hi I'm Alisha

I'm a pianist, a RN, a mother of 3, a wife, and I've lived in 4 US states in the last 8 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the oldest child of all daughters. My mother is from a tiny town next to a bayou in Louisiana and my Dad is a surfer from California. Neither parents are musicians, yet I chose to study Classical piano as a youth. I enjoy sight-reading, improvisation, and arranging music. I work as a piano accompanist for instrumentalists and theater. I enjoy attending theater, symphonies, and any other good concerts. I graduated college with a Bachelor's degree in nursing and I worked in women & children units in a university hospital. I have 3 young children, I stay at home with them, and I enjoy spending time with them. I've moved at least 5 times in the last 8 years for my husband's career. I'm inspired by creative and loving people wherever I go.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was around 10 years old, I read the Book of Mormon and learned about Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and that we lived before this life on Earth. I felt something comforting and right about this. I independently prayed to know if I was the daughter of Heavenly Father, if He was real, if Jesus Christ was my Savior, and if the Book of Mormon was true. I felt an overwhelming feeling of peace, warmth, and faith pour over me. Since that time, I continue to pray to my Heavenly Father and read the scriptures. I believe that my spirit, and all of us, lived before this Earth. I believe that I am the daughter of Heavenly Father and He created a plan to allow us to choose to live with Him forever and learn from Him. I believe we chose to accept Heavenly Father's plan, to come to Earth, and that every choice concerning our lives is ours alone to make. I believe that there is false information and spiritual truth all around us because this earth was created for us to choose which to believe. I believe Jesus Christ chose to be our Savior and provide the Atonement so we can repent when we make choices which lead us away from truth. I believe that Jesus Christ organized a specific church that could teach us how to use our free will correctly and bring us the greatest joy. I believe this church is The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When I pray about the teachings of the church, I feel the Spirit inspire me with faith and hope. I believe this church began as the Church of Jesus Christ when Jesus lived on the earth, it was taken away for a time, and was restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith in these later days and so the name Latter-Day Saints was added. I believe since the creation of the earth, there have been prophets all over the earth who prophesied about Jesus Christ. I believe the Book of Mormon is a record of prophets who prophesied of Jesus Christ on the American continent. The Book of Mormon inspires me every time I read it.

How I live my faith

I pray to my Heavenly Father every day. I believe He is the Father of my Spirit, the creator of the Universe, and that He cares about my eternal salvation. My heart is full of peace and guidance after prayer. I study the Bible, The Book of Mormon, and other writings by prophets almost every day. I meditate about things I read and then I privately pray and ask Heavenly Father for correct understanding. I believe I receive answers. I was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and afterwards, I received the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost testifies to me when I make a correct decision, when I learn something true, inspires my mind or heart to love others, or reminds me why I am here on earth. The Holy Ghost feels like a warmth in my chest or an idea that makes everything seem brighter. When I follow the inspiration, I feel hope, courage, and positive motivation. I go to church every Sunday and take the Sacrament, in remembrance of Jesus Christ dying for my sins and I repent of my sins as they happen. I am a pianist and in church meetings I perform my own musical arrangements, play for the children’s primary music, and the adult choir because I believe music can testify of God. I try to love all the people around me unconditionally and respect their right to exercise their free will. I believe that each person is here to choose for themselves and I believe they are all sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. I am married and have 3 children, I love them deeply, and I teach them what I believe. I stay home with my children, play with them, and I learn from their ideas and unique talents. When I keep the commandments of God, my home is a place of peace, happiness, and love.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Alisha
I believe there are many good things in this life that can bring us joy. This Earth is a special place designed for us to learn to follow Heavenly Father's plan. If we follow the guidance of the Holy Ghost, sometimes thought of as our conscience, our life will be filled with happiness we probably would not find ourselves. Heavenly Father knows sexual relations inside the bounds of marriage can make a marriage stronger. He knows children who are born to a emotionally-healthy married couple tend to be happier. He wants us to feel joy on this Earth and so He gave us the "Law of Chastity" as some of His wisdom that will make our lives better. Show more Show less
