Hi I'm Stephani

I grew up all over the world. I study photography. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints

About Me

I'm a photographer and a dancer. I am the middle child of seven with five brothers and one sister. I have lived in America, Egypt, and Germany. I attend college and hope to one day pursue my career in teaching the arts.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess you could say I'm a member because I was raised in this church, this gospel of Christ is all I've ever known. Through my rebellious teen years it was just easy to admit that I do things because "my parents make me" it was just so easy to tell my friends that I did the things I did, such as going to church every Sunday attending church activities at least once throughout the week and early morning seminary, purely because they were my parents' rules. I knew that all my friends could accept that fact no matter how much they thought it was weird or how ever much they encouraged me to rebel. Life was smooth sailing as soon as my friends accepted that but later on in my high school career, it wasn't enough. Even though it may be true that they were my parents' rules, I have always had my agency to act however I pleased as long as I could accept the consequences. I was in Germany where with a very young drinking age, the temptation to ignore all i've been taught growing up and to give in to the use of alcohol and even drugs of sorts was prevalent and it really did have to be my choice not just a parental restriction. It was up to me to choose not to drink and I was constantly having to find friends that wouldn't bring me down into that temptation that I have chosen not to succumb to. It is hard choosing the right because it's just easier not to care and the bad things will always be easier to slip into with lack of awareness. But when all is said and done, it is worth it. Through that crucial time in my life I've learned why I really am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. I am a member because no matter how hard life is and no matter how much I am persecuted for my beliefs, I am the happiest girl in the world when I live the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know this is the true church of Christ and I am a blessed daughter of God who will one day live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through open acceptance of what I'm supposed to do. It isn't easy to give up time especially when you are attending a University and life just seems so busy. In church, I help out with the activities we do weekly as a ward which is what we call our church congregation. It's so much fun to plan things that bring people together and make sure they have a smile on their faces. Another favorite thing of mine is to make desserts for random people that I may or may not know. It is just so satisfying when I am giving to others. Whether they are having a good or bad day, I believe a brownie or a cupcake will make life worthwhile. I love to serve and can rarely say "no" which people say is a bad thing but I know my weakness of always saying yes has become a strength because I get to help those who need it and I always feel better after serving.
