Hi I'm Amanda Kay

I am a member of and a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have never been happier.

About Me

I am 19 years old. Born and raised in California. I attended a city college while I figured out what career I wanted to pursue. But now I am serving a full time mission for the church. I love going hiking with my dad and reading any books that catch my eye. I am also the only member of The Church of Jesus-Christ of Latter-day Saints in my family.

Why I am a Mormon

In high school I met a girl named cortney. There was something different about her. There was always something in her eyes. It was the light of Christ and the love she had for our Heavenly Father. I knew that I wanted what she had. I started the missionary lessons. They gave me my own copy of The Book of Mormon. They taught me how to pray. They told me if I read The Book of Mormon and asked God through prayer if it is true. And that God would tell me if it was. I sat down with my Book of Mormon. I prayed to Heavenly Father to let me know if what I was about to read was true. As I read I felt the Holy Ghost. It was a warmth all over my body, like a parent holding me in their arms. From that momment I knew The Book of Mormon was true, Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the true church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a good example to my friends and family. I follow the commandments because I love my heavenly father and my savior Jesus Christ. I striving to be a good Christian and try to live the way Jesus Christ did when he was on Earth. At church I am on the dance committee where I help plan young single adult dances where we can meet new friends and have good clean fun on a Friday night. I am also on the Family Home Evening committee where I help plan other fun activities that bring us together.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Amanda Kay
Young men and women are encouraged to save up money to pay for their own mission. Some can not pay for the mission or can only paid a small portion. But there is always members in the church world wide willing to help young men and women pay for a mission. Those willing members donate money into a church missionary fund that blesses many willing men and women serve the Lord like me. I was not able to pay for my whole mission but have been blessed by donations from others to help me. Show more Show less
