Hi I'm Charise

I'm a stay-at-home mom, and the wife of a dental student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

While at one time I taught elementary school, I am now a stay-at-home mom of a little boy, and love it. In my spare time.. I mean, during nap time, I like to scrapbook, craft, read, or just enjoy some peace and quiet. My husband is in dental school, and I see him very little, unfortunately. But when we have a break, we love doing things together as a family and going on adventures around where we live.

Why I am a Mormon

The best part of my life is not my job, my house, or my family. It is actually the gospel. It is the reason why everything else in my life is the way it is. The gospel helps me make good choices, and teaches me to become a better citizen, a better parent, a better wife, a better mother, and a better person in general. I have grown a strong testimony in having faith and trusting in the Lord. He leads my paths for good when I pray, and when I follow His commandments. Life isn't always perfect, but I feel safe knowing that I can always trust in my Father in Heaven, in Jesus Christ, and in the leaders of my church. I feel happy and secure as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I just moved far away from where I grew-up, and have learned a lot in this new place. At first glance, the church seemed so much different here. The members looked different, the building and neighborhood looked much different, and at first I was afraid. But I soon came to realize that the church is the same no matter where I go. Regardless of if I am attending a meeting in Utah, New York City, Guatemala, Korea, or Ukraine, the Spirit will always be the same, and the happiness I feel when I participate in church activities is always present. In the church I have been called to supervise over the visiting of all the women members of the church in our area. It is my job to make sure that each woman in our church is visited at least once a month, often with an uplifting message. There are also lots of opportunities for other service that I often participate in such as cleaning our church building, volunteering in the community, and helping other members of the church. I find joy in helping others and being able to make a difference in people's lives.
