Hi I'm Lauri

I was born in Southern CA, I am married with five children and next month will be blessed with our 8th grand baby. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live a pretty normal everyday sort of life! I was able to stay at home and raise my children for the first 27 years of our marriage. When my husband lost his job (the second time) I needed to step in and go to work. So I began working full time at a bank. That was quite an adjustment for all of us! But the Lord blessed me to be able to keep up. My husband was able to get another job working from home so it was easier to leave for work each day knowing that Dad was home with our youngest. In this world, I worry about a child being home alone everyday - no matter how good he may be. I was born into a Mormon family, have been an active member of the church my whole life, I work for the church and I teach early morning seminary. I really am blessed to be surrounded by the gospel in every aspect of my life. As I look around me, I realize how blessed I really am to have had the privilege to be in the midst of good people who are just trying to be more like the Savior everyday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I was born a Mormon. I STAY one, because I have gained my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I will never forget the day and the particular prayer where the Lord confirmed to my heart His existence and His Knowledge of mine. It happened more than 30 years ago, but I will never forget the great Love that I felt at that time -- is something i reflect on often.

How I live my faith

Our church provides a program for the youth called Seminary. This is four years of religious education that begins in the ninth grade and goes through their senior year. In our area, these classes are held in the morning before school. I get to teach these classes!! That means that I greet these teenagers at 5:55 am each day for 50 minutes of scripture study, games that center around memorizing scriptures and activities that enhance testimonies of our Father in Heaven and of the Savior. It is Fabulous!!
