Hi I'm Jen

I grew up in 5 different states. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a convert to The Church. I love to read, cook, go running, I LOVE photography, I LOVE to travel the world & experience different cultures through the museums, the people & of course the food!! Some of my favorite places I've traveled to throughout the world are: Italy (Sicily & Rome), Germany (Cologne), England (London x2), Ireland (Dublin) & the Czech Republic (Prague).

Why I am a Mormon

I converted to The Church almost 5 years ago. 2 missionaries (who's names are now completely lost to my memory as well as to history) were out trackting in the snow & they came & knocked on my door. & me being me--I invited them in--& they promptly told me that they couldn't come in. I was very puzzled at this point--& I even thought that they were being rather rude by not accepting my invitation to come in out of the cold & the snow!! They told me who they were & they offered me a Book of Mormon & asked me if I had ever heard of the Church. I said no. They gave me a pass along card w/their # on it. Then they left. I really feel the Spirit whispered to me about the Church & laid the foundation for my testimony & my eventual conversion to the Church. I met w/the missionaries & they began teaching me. The rest, they say, is history!

How I live my faith

I am an active member of the North Shore Ward--I enjoy going to weekly Institute classes--where we study a range of different topics, ranging from the Presidents of the Church to the Doctrine & Covenants to the Old Testament. I also enjoy attending Relief Society Meetings once a month because I enjoy fellowshipping with the sisters in my ward, hearing their stories, laughing with them, and hearing their testimonies. It boosts my testimony & makes me feel the Spirit whenever I'm around them!! Serving other people--both in the Ward & out--is a way that I can forget about my troubles. I can help people who aren't as fortunate as me. & that makes me feel good!

What is the Law of Chastity?

Jen
The Law of Chastity is there so that we can be pure & virtuous before God, and so we can be free of the influences of the world, many of which are VERY negative & go against what the Church preaches. The Law of Chastity is there to protect us. It also means that you won't have sexual relations before marriage & that you will have sexual relations ONLY with your husband or wife once you are married. Being virtuous also means that you should be modest in dress, appearance & in the language you use. Being virtuous means that you won't view or allow anyone to view pornography, which is addictive, and can ruin a marriage or a relationship by ensnaring the viewer deeper & deeper into it's "web."
